I had to deal with something like that in an online Halo CTF match, on the Blood Gulch map.

It was a match with plenty of tanks and Warthogs, and my team was getting pretty well pounded...the enemy had control of three out of four tanks, and my team was all pretty low-caliber (myself included).

However, I was having a good day in terms of hand-eye coordination...so since we had a virtually assured loss, I started just taking out pistol, hopping through the teleporter, and taking potshots at the tank pilots.

Long story short, I killed four people in tanks and one on foot in a row using pistol-only while dodging tank shells and a guy in a Warthog trying to run me over (who got killed by the friendly fire shortly after).

I was actually kickbanned from the game right about then; I presume that they thought that I was hacking, and I found that so funny that I didn't even give a damn about being booted.

Halo MP. Maybe it was something in the air that day, but I was in the zone. Maybe 10-15 kills in less than 5 minutes. Nothing could touch me. It ended up being something like 3 or 4 on 1 because I just kept on killing everybody. Whatever weapon it was, I was just mowing them down.

I don't remember what level, but I remember that I ended up remembering where certain weapons respawned so I ended up tricking the other people a bunch of times. Like letting someone chase me down in the Warthog, but then I ran into a tunnel knowing the rocket launcher was there. So, the guy waits for me to appear. And I come out firing. Warthog blows up before he knows what hits him. And that's only one kill.

Interestingly enough, nobody actually called "HAX" or something. They all just left. :D

It was a classic situation. The lone commando against the entire enemy team.

Here I am playing Counter Strike on Militia. Its 10-10. My CT team is loosing badly. They keep rushing topside and getting killed. Next round I get a M4 Carbine and go into the tunnels. In less then 30 seconds my entire team is wiped out without killing anyone. I have a lone ally who decided to follow me into the tunnel. We encounter our first terrorist and I manage to waste him while my ally gets himself killed. In another second another terrorist comes around a corner and I waste him.

So far the enemy hasn't pushed into the CT spawn. Probably thought I was spawn camping or something.

Anyway, I move through the tunnel walking and listen for the enemy. When I hear someone walking around the backyard, I wait for them to be retreating. I climb the ladder and waste one guy, then another.

Thats 4 down, 6 to go.

I find one guy walking around the roof and while I am in the backyard I blow him away with bursts. Another comes through the door near the garage. I blow him away. Next I enter the front of the house. Outside here I get into a running firefight with two more terrorists and manage to blow them away. I am at 30% health and just barely over one magazine of ammo.

I get up close to the house and standard their listening. I hear two people running around inside. One seems to be staying in the garage while the other is running around, soon he makes his way to the front door. I get into ambush position and let him walk out. I shoot him in the back.

At this point the final terrorist is holed up inside the garage probably scared shitless. A single CT has annihilated his entire team and is apparently unstoppable. I know this guy is going to be hiding in the darkest corner or the best ambush spots he can think of. 1-1 with me assaulting him its going to be sheer luck for me to win.

I go inside the house and get into the kitchen. Being a well seasoned camper myself, I know all the usual camping spots. I know where the wall is possible to shoot through as well. To the left of the kitchen/garage door is a wonderful camping spot. The door opens and hides whoever is right next to it. This allows the person to shoot people in the back as they walk in. I fire a quick burst of fire through the wall as I rush the door. To my surprise I have killed the last person.

Upon the start of the next round my team is whooping. I managed to break the Terrorist confidence and gave my team money to purchase good weapons. Almost every terrorist is immediately accusing me of cheating, of wall hacking. I ask them how come I had to carefuly fight them and that I often ran into people unexpectedly. I pointed out that there was a single guy left after his entire team was annihilated and that he would be hiding in predictable spots.

To this day I wish I had saved a demo of that round. It was truly astounding.

CT: Source

I join the terrorist team in Dust2. I purchased that Desert Eagle-esque pistol and stock up on ammo/grenades/etc. It's 5-v-5. We all walk into an enclosed dark area and line against the wall around the enterance or the dark area (which has a hallway leading outside), prepare for an ambush. Some hapless CT walks in and get's waisted from 5 ways to the weekend. I tossed a smoke grenade into the small hallway, filling it with...well...smoke. He was carrying a M4 Carbine. Picked it up, and just as the smoke was starting to clear, I tossed a flashbang outside. With them blinded, I ran out. Three of them was in plain sight, and started to shoot. I think they was trying shooting at us, but because of the flashbang, he completely whatever he was aiming for. My entire team behind me focused on one of them. I killed two of them, the one in the middle, and the one on the right. Running out, I turned to the left, killed this guy on a box, turned 180 degrees, and killed another guy on the box, this time a headshot. I had 2 bullets left, so I tried to pull out my pistol, but I accidentily pulled out my HE grenade (I slipped my mouse wheel the wrong way. )

I saw a guy run out from behind the box (which was pressed against a wall.) With no time to react, I tossed it at him. He fired at me, brought me down to 2 health, and then ran right back behind the box. As he soon discovered, a grenade at 4 feet away isn't much different from a grenade 2 feet away. Somehow, he was still alive, so I pulled out my pistol and finished him off.

The next round, the entire enemy team was accusing me of hacking. Within a round or two, those died out and we went back to killing each other. Most of the other team left shortly after and team balance switched me to CT when we switched to Office. Someone joined the terrorists (I think it was a girl) and she was so good it's scary. She managed to plant a bullet in the head from 30 feet away. It was pretty obvious she was carrying the team. Of course, members of my team accused her of hacking. I thought she was just good, mainly because it was a VAC secured server, and I saw from her viewpoint that not only was she taking damage as well, but she was actually taking her time to aim carefully. I told my team to shut up and play. A heated flamewar ensues via the chat, and eventually, she is switched to terrorist via team balance after some n00bs join in spamming with "im new how do you play." One disgruntled member teamkills another ct who was defending said girl. Next round, our entire team TK's the bastard simultaniously shortly after spawning. Now THAT's ownage. Unfortunately, it digresses into a he-said-she-said thing (well, more of a he-killed-she-killed thing) and the girl and I switch to different servers.)
Brains!

The first two replies in my Red Storm Rising thread reminded me of someone over at Spacebattles recounting some epic battle they had in the Harpoon computer game where they had somehow managed to get an Iowa battleship within gun range of a Soviet battle group, and simply wasted the lot of them with 16" gunfire, and got some special "Big Guns Ending" from the game or something.

It always seemed like an awesome "pwned" moment to me.

EDIT: It was IXJac. Here's the post in question:
Harpoon was great fun for Operational level warfare and even a bit of Grand Strategy. My favourite missions were in the GIUK - taking out Norway as the USSR, and taking on the Kirov battlegroup as the Iowa. Two groups of 16 of the most powerful surface ships in the world going at it. No aircraft (by then all airbases were cratered) save a fight of Russian Mays from Norway.

Because of some unfortunate malfunctions that last battle was the absolute hardest I've ever had in any Harpoon game. I was setting up for a sub strike, but then on 688 was picked up by an Akula (was running a bit too fast to get into position) and spend the next three days dodging sonobouys, torpedoes and Mays.

The other got a solution on the Frunze but then the entire fire control system crashed - couldn't even fire Tomahawks.

Then the Frunze nuked my battlegroup and sank half my destroyers and the Valley Forge. I'd been holding my missile strike, assuming I could weather the Russian attack (didn't expect nukes) and so my own desperate counter attack failed, as half my missile platforms were lost by the time I launched it.

In desperation I broke the fleet up and managed to get the Missouri into a very nasty storm. The Helix's couldn't follow, and the Russians ended up chasing down a couple of Knox's instead. Then my crippled LA class sub finally got its firecontrol back on line and I launched probably the most suicidal naval attack in history.

For survival my fleet was scattered, and I had just my battleship and a couple of frigates and the single sub in position. Using the storm as cover I approached to within 100 miles of the Russians before they picked me up. Then I used the figates as decoys to soak up the remaining SSMs (poor buggers). By then the Russians were down to flinging SAMs at the Missouri. However, she was down to 23 knots because of a Shipwreck hit. They'd have gotten away if the 688 hadn't managed to wing the Kirov herself (a really desperate shot at the very edge of the envelope). By the time they got her moving again the Missouri was inside of the magic 30 mile mark, and I opened up with the 16"ers. The Russians tried to respond with their 122mm and 152mm guns but it was no contest. I massacred the picket destroyers facing me, and then broke into the center of the 50 mile across formation, pushing the engines for all they were worth. The Slava went down with a single hit. The Frunze took four at nearly 20 miles out and exploded, and then the Russians were in full flight running for Murmansk at full speed, and the old battleship was the only surface ship in the GIUK Gap.

After getting so badly owned for the past five days of battle it was sweet sweet sweet revenge.

It was made all the more classic by it's Big Gun resolution, something I've never managed to repeat in any Harpoon game.

That is a classic example that I remember reading years ago. Just the thought of a Battleship managing to get into gun range after missile ships emptied their magazines is fun to think about. It would have a great deal of fun.
