Weird water beading effect (photos, of course)

This isn't the first time I've noticed it, but it is the most pronounced. Water's got some cool properties..




Just as I spotted them, forming right on the surface after being slowed down by another loop of the garden hose:




Some of the little water beads do hang out for a while before slipping away. And of course there had to be a closeup overhead shot:

That clueless orange aphid...
