No, not just the obvious technological/industrial/military advantage the Empire has over the Federation. But occasionally some tactics as well.
Take the example of Wong's comment on my thread about Section 31.
Now, I'm not disputing that statement. However, did the Empire routinely use such harsh measures against worlds they were conquering in the EU? Then again, I suppose that a truly 'realistic' campaign would have the Federation surrendering by day one (after they realize who the Empire really are, and what they can really do), and that would be boring, boringer than stories where San Francisco gets BDZ'ed.
