Cloning in other countries
I know there's a ban on human cloning here, but what if someone/some people wanted to start animal or human cloning in another country, some poor African country like somalia, etc, could they just pack up, go over and build the facility? What about if someone could build a cloning facility also in some very remote secluded area, like the Northwest Territories, etc?

Something as complex as cloning would require large and expensive resources and equipment. The easiest way, although not necessarily the most effective way, to stop this would be for countries that ban cloning to also ban the export of said equipment to known cloners.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

<Conspiracy-addled bleating> I'm telling ya. Martha Stewart is evil. She was involved in ImClone. Get it? ImClone, as in clones! Don't bet for a minute ImClone is involved with cancer research. It's all a front! Martha Stewart + ImClone = World takeover! </Conspiracy-addled bleating>
Seriously though, Wicked Pilot's proposal is sound. Would we classify such equipment along the same lines of WMD and send in the inspectors if someone is breaking the rules?

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

but I don't think they'd be doing human cloning there with all the people they already have, they encourage parents to only have one childWell, from what I have heard, China has absolutely no ethical laws preventing the technology of cloning in their country. There are no restrictions on scientific research in biomed science there.
