Another thing that was kinda strange is when the radiation collected on the ceiling and made some rather interesting designs....and a perfect circle as well.

I merely assumed that the device dispersed small particles of irradiated matter which then rained down on everyone like dust. Imagine bascially a modern day dirty bomb and replace the plutonium with some stupid ST technobabble radiation.
