That is, the size of the too-small mock-up sitting in the DS and Echo Base hangars. I'm sure it'd require one hell of an effort since it would require modifying the surroundings, but that seems doable now.
Or do they not know that the interior set is too small to fit inside the "life-size" exterior?
Would CG make it possible to correct the Falcon's exterior?

The mock-up Falcon sitting in the DS hangar bay in ANH was replaced with a CG model for the SE (the hangar bay matte itself was also largely replaced by a CG matte).
The exterior sets for Sci-Fi productions seems generally to be built smaller than the size that the interior sets suggests (see the Galileo shuttle in TOS for example)

I didn't know that. Obviously they didn't correct the size though, since it would have been considerably larger otherwise.Mange wrote:The mock-up Falcon sitting in the DS hangar bay in ANH was replaced with a CG model for the SE (the hangar bay matte itself was also largely replaced by a CG matte).

Doable? Absolutely. Worth the money? No way in hell.Galvatron wrote:That is, the size of the too-small mock-up sitting in the DS and Echo Base hangars. I'm sure it'd require one hell of an effort since it would require modifying the surroundings, but that seems doable now.
