So? SO?

Who gives a shit if you can alt-tab out or not? It used to be you COULDN'T,
at least until now, with enough memory and horsepower to have a FREAKING
GAME running in the background...

HELL YEAH

Some games just don't translate well to multiplayer.....giant massive
empire building games amongst others......and I want my MOO3 to
be pure turn based, NOT FUCKING REAL TIME......

PISS ON THE RTS FREAKS! YOU FUCKED UP STARFLEET BATTLES
WHEN YOU MADE IT INTO STARFLEET COMMAND!

Ah , but not to worry, the Empire building phase is all turn based. The Fleet battles are real time, and look to be amazing, its not the build up and rush of other RTS's , you get to be Grand Admiral, ordering your Fleet divisions across space to engage the enemy in the best way possible, I think its going to rock.

I'f we can just pry the damn things out of the programmers hands......

What kind of reviews is MOO3 getting?? I was a HUGE MoO2 fan and remembered many wasted nights playing that game and hope against all hope that they could have made a game as good or even better for the sequel.

So far the betas have been estatic , and just barely able to avoid violating their NDA's on the Quicksilver Website, I think it bodes well for the game. From what I've been able to garner it has all the good aspects of MoO2, without the excessive micro-managing that bogs the game so badly late in the game when you have 20 or 30 systems to run.

Personally , I'm a MoO2 junkie and I'm psyched, I just wish they would quit being stupid and ship before Xmas, and then patch the multiplayer later.......

Good thing they went bankrupt. Serves them right for killing two awesome games (Freespace 2 and Descent 3).
I know they got bought by somebody else, but they keep sending me mail.

I have to agree with a few others: Sierra. I played their OLD games, until Police Quest 4. That was the last fucking straw. It billed itself as a "realistic" police simulation. But the solutions you had to do for certain puzzles were unbelievable. In one section, my cop kept getting mauled by a dog, no matter what I did. The SOLUTION was, to superglue a broken sideview car mirror to a used drumstick to see around the corner to shoot the dog.

I sent it back to them with a three page rant.

Among my gaming friends there is a term that implies everything evil in the gaming world...

"The Sierra Solution" Try every possible combination of everything no matter how illogical until something works. Then play for another 30seconds before having to do this again.

I'm pissed off because:

- They have repeatedly pushed back the release date AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN, combined with long periods of no new information whatsoever
- Their 'updates' consist of nothing excpet "everyone please stop speculating"

How do you know the copy protection is shoddy? And why do you want to Alt-Tab though?

The game itself seems fine though. If the fucking thing is ever released.

ROFLMAO

That's the hardest laugh I've had since watching the entire Black Adder series.

I remember that stupid fucking shit. Their adventure games all sucked, I'm sorry- Sierra Solution indeed.

Eidos.

They killed off Pumpkin Studios after just one game (and it was a really good game too: Warzone 2100).

Also, I'm not sure I agree with the whole Sierra thing. I mean, come on! They published Half-Life and Homeworld!

One of the Beta/mods stated it will be using a known copy protection scheme that has already been defeated, plus Infograms has a history of crappy protection schemes.
And why do you want to Alt-Tab though?
Some times I'm given the option to alt-tab to do something else or quit. Guess which I would want to choice? Also what happens if a pop-up window plasters itself over my game window. I have a dialup account, when the internet drops it pops up a window asking if I want to reconnect.

The worst part is they are diabling Alt-Tab as an 'anti-cheat' measure! Talk about stupid.

Lots of reason, plus Windows XP is a multi-tasjing OS, I want to be able to use my computer properly with out arbitary limits.

The game itself seems fine though. If the fucking thing is ever released.
If the thing gets release, I'll probable buy it as I still have a deposit one it at a store.

Hmm Interplay had some really good titles. EA is pretty bad
because several companies produced only average or worse games
aber beeing bought by EA. Ultima 9 is one of the best examples.

What the FUCK? What the fuck are they smoking? Is this like the first game ever made where you can't cheat if you want to?

What does alt-tab have to do with cheating?

Sometimes ... I LIKE cheating.
