Depends what show do you like more. Or how much serious you are about versus debates. After all, the special effects, all the data, books etc are made with 'coolness' factor in mind, not with crazy idea of setting ships from different universes against each other.
Coolness factor in SW is best show in the EU books, where guns are more powerfull with each book and certain Luke S. is more and more 'wanked'. It's also seen in the movies, when big honking blast of death (TM) is not able to do anything to the dirt, but in the next moment it's going straight through the armour plate. Not to mention uber-soliders-of-doom (also TM) that are getting dumber with each passing second in vinicity of main characters.
Coolness factor in the ST is best show on Data as he's a walking technobabble able to do anything required (like japaneese toster) and in various plot devices of the week starting from uber-Connie able to shrug off DS level blasts and ending on half dead Bird of Prey that is always able to do weird things like going faster the Fed flagship, killing said flagship, growing (or shrinking) etc.
Summarizing - if you are not dead serious about versus thing, anything can happen. Wanna the Borg win - they produce technobabble effect of the episode, adapting to the DS superlaser (and turbolasers, Force and whatever else), win and assimilate Vaders metal arse. Wanna DS win - no problem, DS looks dangerously on the Borg and they explode.
