Lots of birds are higly intelligent. Parrots and crows comes most easily to mind. There are plenty of records of birds using tools and environment in a fashion that would be considered intelligent. But on the other hand they have little to no concept of self, so parrots for instance can be fooled by a mirror.
If you make a search on Animal Planet for Pet Star Parrot you can see a prime example of how you can train a parrot.
If you make a search on "Bird intelligen crow" and "bird intelligent parrot".
The ones I find most fascinating are the "fishing crows" and the crows in japan that use the traffic lights to break nuts. Becasue they show high adaptability in their habitat without being 'tought' the trick. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... _apes.html
The video is about parrots, the relevant bit is parrots reading and executing a series of instructions, answering verbal questions about sets of objects, and using a sort of browser on a computer to look through music and video when they're alone.

Heh, beat me. Oh, right, crows. Friend of a friend cares for a disabled crow that's infamous for singing goth music, and repeating things it overheard to the subject of the supposedly private conversation. Also, for impersonating the voice of a particular human in order to get a reaction out of another. Quite the sense of humor.

My cousin's parrot immitates the phone, because it realised at some stage that people gave the phone attention when it rang.

Some friends of mine had a parrot and a dog. Now every time the doorbell rang the dog would go crazy, running around and barking.
So you can guess what happened when the parrot got bored, right?
But of course it is not only avians who use that trick. I had a cat some years ago that would mimic the sound of seagulls to lure them to our balcony. Worked like a charm but AFAIK he only caught one.
