How would a group of 8 Templars and 3 Dark Templars fare in the situation at Planet P where the Roughnecks were pinned down in the smashed fort and were very lucky to escape.

After all, the Roughnecks' guns are nowhere near as effective as a freakin' Psi-Storm.

And if worse comes to worse, "Form Blazing Avatar!"

I don't know ... they are limited to their powers/psi-blades correct? If so, they will be reduced to hand to hand fighting soon. The Zerg can kill them, I'm sure the Arachnids can.

Well they have personal shielding, and i think that the Templars are skilled enough in ranged figthing with their Psi blades that they can slice and dice those Arachnids.

A dark templar or two can run up and man those guns in case they want to do some ranged shooting. And of course, templars can form up and become archons any time.

If the bugs manage to reach them there in trouble, only three of the Protoss have the ability to defend themselves, though it would be one swipe kills.

However Psi storm should keep the bugs away from long enough to bring down a shuttle.

Don't high templars have a range attack, I've only seen heroes use it but maybe it was left out for balance.

Mass hallucinations could also by them a little extra time while the dark templars take out the first wave...

They have the attack programming in, they decided to take it out at the last minute. I assume they can attack in the novels, so they can attack here as well.
