I've got a basic fleetlist worked out now.

Ahah. There should be one for the former.

Dashed circles represent 'uninhabited' (by Imperial standards, you never know about pirate bases) systems, a single solid circle represents a system with one populated planet. A double circle represents two populated planets, a triple circle, three, and a thick one, like Bastion itself, four populated planets.

The letters are included in the BFG rulebook, but I'll copy them here too.

A - Agri-world
C - Civilised World
F - Forge World
H - Hive World
M - Mining World
U - Uninhabited/Unexplored
P - Penal Colony (in my book, these represent prisoner-operated mining operations, rather than simple penal colonies, because the IoM isn't likely to transfer prisoners off a planet when it can just hang them...)

If you like, you could PM it. But it's perfectly safe to just put it up here.

I'd rather not let the xenos and traitors see what the true might of the imperial navy is, at least not until they're in weapons range ;)

If we did a round robin how would we use the Brace for Impact special order as that is rolled for in the opposing players turn?

The obvious answer is that we have to play in real time...

There's an unnamed and unmarked planet next to P-21 in the Zamaphel sub-sector.

I may be bothered to try this, as chaos, since everyone is playing as Imperial or Eldar.

Yes. There is, isn't there. Actually, there's two planets there. What's there?

More than enough. Sixty plus systems. You could make do with less, but knowing SDNers, I suspect lots of people will want to aquire lots of territory.
Is it going to be a free for all or are people going to ally by race?
It is encouraged to ally by race... but there's always excuses for internicine war.

Now I'm scared! How does one travel to unconnected systems?

I might be interested. Possibly as an Ork fleet. I haven't played BFG before though, so I'd quite like to 'watch' a few battles before playing one, lest my poor fleet get completely mashed.

Orks are very noob friendly. Head on attacks at close range, with priority for your fighta-bombers being protecting your ship from enemy bombers.

I'll be going Chaos, due to the shear numbers of Imperial and Eldar. That way if I win lots of fights it is a personal triumph and if I lose the Imperium is victorious. Not always having the evil prow of doom is going to take some getting used to though.

I suggest using the optional rules with small craft to avoid the cheesy "massive swarms of doom" attack craft strategies and the Chapter approved rules on fighters acting as a bomber screen.

Does weapon fire hit ordinance if it passes through the ordinance marker, but isn't specifically targetting it?

If we have a few extra points after making a fleet, can we bank it in our Homeworld and use it later?

Isn't telling the world your initial fleet a bit too much information? Also, if we're using the extended rules you don't have to buy your admiral. A basic one is provided free.

Nope, apparantly, it's not too much to just put out there. Thanks for the heads up about the Admiral, though...
