"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia
Well now, she's certainly... forward.
How many pages are you estimating that this chapter will be, by the way?

Knowing Desuinius actually I'd figure that Umber would be the pony.Pick wrote:Desunius is a sick pony.Darth Raptor wrote:Dirty thoughts! Thank you!
The latest pages are good, I particularly like the Hoquer!Depressed thing and his interplay with Selia. She seems pretty tough on him back at this time... softening over time as he gets deeper and deeper into despair?

Maybe he's mildly depressed in the Zantim Chapter? You don't have to be all "CRAWLING IN MY SKIIIN" to be depressed. They gave me my medication for sounding a bit like Hoquer after all...Pick wrote:Actually, Hoquer isn't depressed... yet. Right now he's worried.
He's done his bad deed, but he hasn't faced the consequences yet... .
Do we know what his bad deed is yet? Did I miss it? Or are you just teasing us? If you knew me I'd suspect you were doing it just because I hate suspense and curiosity. Infuriating.

Well, for whatever the reasons, all of the characters certainly seem quite different (although I do see a bit of emo is Hoquer's haircut ). Edge's influence cannot be denied. And this is only how many thousands of years before the main story starts?

You know that's ironic considering I was about to say you're very good at concising and I have no idea where you got the idea that your characters are flat or your writing is getting worse. (Well, Hyral's a bit focused, shall we say, on one issue/profession but that's understandable given her situation. Same with Verdie.)Pick wrote:I hated needing to make this page... because it's summarizing SO DAMN MUCH information . It's... like... I didn't just pull this out of my ass! Maybe try tiny, pocket bible sized font and italics. Cram your natural writing style into gigantic loopy speech bubbles.
Damn you, Pick! Why do you deprive me of your art with spoilers? (:P)
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Well, occasionally, to appreciate your artwork: you're just that good. Dark Councillors is on my "To-do-when-I-have-enough-time-and-the-inclination-to-sit-at-the-computer-for-eight-hours-reading-a-presumably-excellent-online-story" list, which is why I was unhappy with the spoiler alert.Pick wrote:Deprive you? For one thing, until now I didn't know you even looked at these threads, much less that you'd care whether or not it spoiled part of Kiyao.Surlethe wrote:Damn you, Pick! Thanks! I dislike butch women and fruity elves on principle, but I'll live!Welcome to the thread though! There's butch women and fruity elves for all of you!
EDIT: I should make clear that I mean the big-hyphenated-description above in self-deprecating reference to my deplorable time management skills, not in insult to your esteemable writing talents.

Well, I can't really say I saw that coming, but it does make a great deal of sense, really. They are both the oldest of their kinds, and outcasts of a sort among their "own" people. By the way, this isn't the "OMFGBBQ" revelation you had intended to put at the very end of DC, is it?Pick wrote:I hated needing to make this page... because it's summarizing SO DAMN MUCH information . I might just read it: I'm at home with nothing to do (though lots I should be doing), and the library doesn't have the book I particularly want to read. Together, you and RedImperator are making me feel like I should take up writing my story again (I haven't worked on it for nigh on two years; in fact, the only creative writing I've done has been that ROTS alt-end fic).Pick wrote:Thank you very much, I'm glad to hear that you like it . And no worries, I hear that a lot anyway when it comes to reading DC . Not to prod you, though, but soon might be a good time --it's on hiatus, so I'm not updating right now (I'm doing this instead.)
That's when the best art happens!Well I aim to not-particularly please!

Hm, that is interesting, both Desunius and Kesyl were the more aggressive ones in their relationships.Pick wrote:Desunius exemplifies the fact that gender roles in Kiyao aren't exactly equivalent to those on Earth .
Is Kiyao a world of masculine*, aggressive women who date typically shy, emotional men? ( I guess , but I may not be far off)
