Forty years ago, Woody Allen took a Japanese knock-off of James Bond and re-dubbed the dialogue to make it into a comedy.
Commando Cody: Sky Marshall of the Universe was an old black & white serial from the 1950s and someone did the same thing with it:

For more on Commando Cody:In a similar vein, Phil Proctor and Peter Bergman's J-Men Forever was finally released on DVD late last year. The duo from Firesign Theatre took old serials like Commando Cody and Captain Marvel, re-edited them, and dubbed a new soundtrack, similar to Allen with Tiger Lily. They used to run it all the time on USA Network's Night Flight back in the 80's, and I was glad to find it again after all these years.

Might be from that TV movie he did about Paul Robeson.Sonnenburg wrote:Which movie is it from where he goes on about the sculpture and singing "Deep River;" it's bugging the heck out of me.
You can listen to Robeson's version of Deep River here:

That would be 'J-Men Forever', which is on my all time favorites list.Elfdart wrote: Commando Cody: Sky Marshall of the Universe was an old black & white serial from the 1950s and someone did the same thing with it:
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

I thought the bit with leia in the prison cell was creepy funny becuase of how well the dialogue fitted with the actions "oh lordy what to do when the love thing gone"
What movie did that come from btw and what was the background music ?
other gems " your mama going on a date"
groaning "oh gawd" when meeting leia "get your black ass outta here"
"daddy is the breadwinner"
oh and now we know.
VADER blew up the Death Star

A great find, and one of my favorite "movies" off all time.
Off to share it with family & friends.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood
