For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;
I'm building a Paladin as my 2nd character.
I'd like to know where to put my skills. So which skills in the Storm and Defence trees are worth the investment.
In particular, is it worth going any higher than level 4 in Storm? I am at level 4 so that I could get the first synergy to Storm Nimbus, which I use as a melee-booster. The next synergy is Static Charge and that's at level 16!
Is Static Charge worth it? For that matter, is Summon Wisp and Storm Surge any good? For a melee build?
What about Defence? What skills are good?

My earth/defender is melee specced. You could do the same with a storm/defender. The shield bash line is a must. As is the requirement reduction line. Adrenaline and it's follow ups as well.I bet colossal form is great but I dont have it yet. I would go for storm nimbus .wisp and energy shield in the storm mastery.Stofsk wrote:I'm building a Paladin as my 2nd character.

Batter is great I use if alot. I have not played around with quick recovery. I break my points between str and dex. I should probably put some in mana because energy is becoming a problem. All my passives plus batter kill my blue bar pretty fast in a big fight.Stofsk wrote:What's Quick Recovery like? And Batter?
Where do you put your attribute points into? I've mostly put mine in Strength, though some in Dex and Health.

You'll probably want all 32 points in storm mastery, if only for the 600 hitpoints, 300 energy, 100 intelligence, and 30 dexterity it gives you. Batter is good - its upgrade is unstoppable. That rally ability also provides a decent heal as well; adrenaline can be good early on too and helps keep you alive in prolonged fighting.

Terion Attack--- Arcane Lore, Earth Enchantment-----Brimstone.Stofsk wrote:Ok, I'm gonna start up a Conjurer next. They seem interesting. Any tips?
After that uhhh, I say drop a point in Stone Form, it never really heals you well, and the Molten Rock retaliation deals absolutely no damage, but at level one it makes you invincible for 6 seconds, which saves your ass and then gives you plenty of time to drop 2 health potions.
After that, uhhhh, I'm trying Core Dweller as a tank, Life Drain-----Cascade was decent early on but I had a Scholar pull all the points out once I started getting some decent staffs fro Ternion Attack..

I'd probably spend more than one point into it. I like to spread my points around. The last thing I want is a 'one-click, one-kill' level in a skill.After that uhhh, I say drop a point in Stone Form, it never really heals you well, and the Molten Rock retaliation deals absolutely no damage, but at level one it makes you invincible for 6 seconds, which saves your ass and then gives you plenty of time to drop 2 health potions.

Yep, your staff weapon damage gets doubled by Earth Enchantment before being tripled by Ternion Attack.Stofsk wrote:I figure Ternion Attack is a given.Anarchist Bunny wrote:Ternion Attack--- Arcane Lore,Stofsk wrote:Ok, I'm gonna start up a Conjurer next. They seem interesting. Any tips?

Go right ahead, but its just wasting points, the molten rock realiation is single digit damage for several levels, and I'm not sure if it crests 20 at max. You get all the benefits of Stone form with one point, the ability to instantly make yourself invincible for a few seconds, while still being able to use potions.I'd probably spend more than one point into it. Haven't really played arround with them, but the Lich King is a spell casting ranged support pet, while Core Dwelleris a slug it out melee tank pet. I'm planning to use the dweller because what I need is something to attract groups of monsters to something that isn't me so that I can wipe them out with Ternion Attack.Core Dweller vs Lich King. That and I can't find any other spells that can even remortly compete with Ternion Attacks killing ability. Even when they are maxed.

The core dweller holds aggro really well. Better than any pet I can remember from any game I have played.

One point in Stone Form for sure. When I said I want to spread my points around I mean put points in things like 'ring of fire' because it looks cool and my character is supposed to be a Conjurer. I don't consider it a waste of points. Especially since you can retool your allotments with a friendly mystic in a major city. What's the point of playing a character that can wipe out anything and everything with one hit?
He has a 'provoke' special ability that draws all enemies to him. I'm actually not too keen about that idea. I liked how with my rangers all the enemies ignored my wolves and tried to get at me, because I was the damage dealer.The core dweller holds aggro really well. I tried buying this and playing, but I'm getting godawful graphics errors.
I posted this in the Titan Quest Tech forum:
I posted this in the Titan Quest Tech forum:
It may have come off a bit snarky, but I'm pretty mad that I just forked out $50 for a game that's unplayable on a system with 50-100% better than the minimum requirements.Topic: Graphics insanity, attempting to remain calm.
I have a quite good laptop (HP Pavillion zd7000), in excess of the minimum system requirements in all regards:
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor,
1.0 GB RAM,
GeForce go5700 graphics card (128 MB)
Direct X updated, blah blah.
When I start the game, shadows appear in a pixelated checkers across the screen and text, instead of going wherever text is supposed to go, is stretched at random angles across the entire screen. I've turned every setting I can find as low as it can go (and as high, just in case) and nothing helps. If I can't get it running in a few days, I'll take the game (and my laptop, in case I need to prove that I SHOULD be able to run it) back to the store for a refund, or at least in-store credit.
I'd like to avoid that, though, and play the game I actually wanted to. Any ideas?

The information that's contained in this line, is actually the most important information, so you aren't likely to get a good respone without also including what version of each driver you are running for your video and sound cards.Sriad wrote:Direct X updated, blah blah.
Is your video card actually a separate card, or is it integrated on the motherboard? If it's integrated, I doubt that you'll ever be able to get the game to work. It's also just barely of sufficient quality to run the game at the lowest settings.If I can't get it running in a few days, I'll take the game (and my laptop, in case I need to prove that I SHOULD be able to run it) back to the store for a refund, or at least in-store credit.

I may be boned then. It IS a seperate video card, but new drivers haven't been released for it for quite a while. It doesn't like newer drivers for other cards either, not even if they're portable cards.Graeme Dice wrote:The information that's contained in this line, is actually the most important information, so you aren't likely to get a good respone without also including what version of each driver you are running for your video and sound cards.Sriad wrote:Direct X updated, blah blah.

I'm running the game at minimum settings now, with the problems... May be getting near time to think about a new computer.

I have essentially the same card in my desktop, and it just barely runs, so you'll have troublem anyways with the laptop.Sriad wrote:I may be boned then. I'm really disliking the Nature tree with my Ranger. I'm starting to think I should have gone straight Huntress instead.
Wolves are useless and what's the point of having the nymph when my char already uses a bow? On the other hand, I can't say no to Heart of the Oak.
Is there any good skills in the Nature tree?
