I just got together with my GF in an attempt to do a controlled experiment on this topic. Unfortunately she swallowed the evidence so I was unable to collect any data for the experiment. I forgot to pull out on the 2nd trial so no data was available for that run either. Conclusion: Sex is good!

Lets see... Most of the time there is some sort of barrier in the way to prevent mess, but one time I did it standing up in the bathroom, facing the closed door, with just this kind of thing in mind. I was standing about 4 feet away from the door, with the launch mechanism being about 3 feet up, launch angle being maybe ten degrees. I initiated the test, and the first and strongest firing hit the door about 1.5 - 2 feet above ground. There were one or two subsequent launches which fell short of the door by at least two feet.

Without the door in the way, the initial firing probably would have gone a good 5.5 feet.

Measurement tip: a tape measure is rather unwieldy in the bedroom, and rather unerotic to boot. Therefore, the easiest way to check for distance is to pull out of her at the moment of ejaculation, shoot, and then take note of whether it lands on her belly, her breasts, or her face. You can then measure or estimate the distance between her crotch and the impact point at a later date. This also has the benefit of removing height differences from the equation, assuming that she's lying prone at the time.

Standing up: 5 feet forward (the weapon was 3 feet up, and the elevation was ~5 degrees)
On my back: 4 feet at highest point above weapon's muzzle (the elevation was about ~80 degrees. Impact point of first shot fired was my face. Second was right behind my head)
Bottoms up: Always hits towel at point-blank range (~6 inches from muzzle)
Number of shots fired: 3-8 depending on charge time and whether it's just me or if my boyfriend is seeing how many times 1 goes into 0
