Ultimate Star Wars vs Star Trek Movie

Post by Lord Poe »

Phil Skayhan and I are planning a SW vs ST machinima movie, about 5 minutes long. Which Federation ship do you want to see a Star Destroyer duke it out with?

There will be no Main Characters in the movie; no Picard, no Thrawn, etc. There MAY be a special appearance at the end, if we decide to make more.

While the Sovereign is ugly it does look more warship-y than the Galaxy.
How about both?

'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'

'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'

Either of those would work, but I'm also a big fan of the Excelsior class.

Or, hell, the Defiant. It's so small it might even so a credible job of avoiding fire by skimming the surface. Check out it's performance in "Shattered Mirror." Also, it's firepower is considered equal to the Galaxy despite its drastic size decrease, so if any Trek ship could put up a fight, that might be it.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

I prefer Sovereign. The Galaxy is too ungainly-looking for my taste.

Screw Wolf 359.

Put it up against STARFLEET itself.

But in all seriousness, Sovie for me.

It's an ACTUAL warship

Over in 3 seconds. Boring.

How about the Akira's? The only Star Fleet ship aside from the Defiant that looks like it can hurt something.

The problem is any depiction of a battle below ISD vs the entire federation starfleet is going to be over in a few seconds. Unless you string it out with dialogue its gonna be a prett damned short film.

Well he could exaggerate the firepower of the Fed ships for purposes of plot.

It's a pretty damning indictment of Starfleet if we have to give them a few free orders of magnitude greater firepower just to prolong the kaboom.

No, I want 'real' firepower numbers.

I like the Sovereign more. It's sexy.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

As the Star Destroyer is a symbol of Wars, the Galaxy is a symbol of Trek, far more than the new, oblong, and neckless Sovereign, despite the Sovereign's prettier nature. My vote is with the Galaxy.

Good luck stretching out a fight between an Imperator and a Federation ship for five minutes...

Make it a Sovereign. But instead of blasting it in a microsecond with TL, toy with it a bit ... just like a cat toys with the mouse.

Sovereign. If you're going to make a movie about a turkey shoot, might as well depict them shooting the biggest turkey.

The Connie. Two classics.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Meh, I said a Connie, not the Enterprise. There is no need to have Kirk on the ship. Say, the Republic or the Constelation or something.

The Galaxy is the biggest turkey in the Fed fleet

The Soveriegn is just longer

I say why not use both in the movie

You could have the Sov be the Enterprise, and the GCS can be the Titan

Your tagline could be, "A Generations Final Journey...ENDS!"

Quick question: will Trekkies be pissed if I dress the crew of the Sovereign in TNG uniforms, instead of the latest uniforms seen in the last Trek movie?

I have the TNG-style uniforms ready to go, but I'd have to experiment and work on new uniforms.

Well, since the Sovereign-class is more modern than the Galaxy-class, I'd like to see the former. It's a great idea, guys!
