Man, that was beautiful. Especially this part:
Phil Skayhan wrote:What little chance of peace that existed between Traviss and her critics vanished with the appearance of this post. This is the source of the now infamous quote "My gut reaction is that they all need garroting, but my rational self finds it all... fascinating." It also had the effect of drawing in people (like myself) that previously had no interest in the clone number debates but found Traviss's statements bewildering and distressing.
That describes my involvement in this quite nicely. I couldn't have cared much less about the clone debate. I figure it will work itself out naturally. Just like the SSD length, the evidence is pretty overwhelming in favor of a larger scale, so I figured I could just watch this one play out and laugh at the people on either side who got overly emotional.

Then Karen Traviss started acting like a child. And her entourage of ass-kissers just encouraged her. And while that kind of behavior isn't really appropriate for anyone, it's completely unacceptable from a person who represents the franchise itself.
Wookieepedia:
We're better than the Holocron. Leland said so. But Karen Traviss still hates us.

The timing on that point is especially important; that KT chose to reduce the level of argument to "my opponents deserve to be murdered" means that there's no room to argue when the opposition descends to the same level. When you choose to pull a knife in a fist fight, you don't start belly-aching when you get stabbed. She opted to resort to violent satire, and Wayne is always happy to engage his opponents on the ground they choose, no matter how low it may be.

Also, Traviss and Kaufman's own Guide to the Grand Army of the Republic used quadrillions as well, IIRC. The lack of internal consistency (it also claimed that the 3 million clones were able to hold their own because of a 200:1 kill ratio) was another criticism of that stupid article.
"They're not triangular, but they are more or less blade-shaped"- Thrawn McEwok on the shape of Bakura destroyers

"Lovely. It's known as impugning character regarding statement of professional qualifications' in the legal world"- Karen Traviss, crying libel because I said that no soldier she interviewed would claim that he can take on billion-to-one odds

"I've already laid out rules for this thread that we're not going to make these evidential demands"- Dark Moose on supporting your claims

Are we sure that this was not written by KT herself?

The SFDebris link? That's ASVS' old stuff. As in where Sonnesburg and me and a few others come from.

No offense to you SirNitram or the rest of you guys that came from there. I was just joking that it sounded like some rhetoric that would spill straight from KT's piehole.

That's detailing the Final Solution. It only works when you refuse to deal with the troll, and don't even acknowledge its existence -- something Ms Traviss has utterly failed to do.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

When traviss finds out you'll be labeled a Talifan and her comments will be forever deleted to ervise the fact she made a mistake (because of course, she doesn't make mistakes.)

Didn't Timmy write to you once and asked you to ban yourself? Or was that Aaron?

I think it was Aron... and it does sound like something Timmy would do.
