Again Thats why I suggested the fight could be between any torpedo armed fighter and the enteprise. At least said battle would last a little longer. Either that or the film is going to have to be lengthened by dialogue or your going to have to give the enteprise extra firepower.
Another idea is you could make the imperials have to capture the ship, it would be a good way to show examples of how stormies are better than red shirts. Just an idea.

Stormtroopers vs Redshirts? Stormtroopers can't hit the broad side of a barn, Redshirts always die. Corrected , Stormtroopers are actually damn competent when not fighting anyone with a last name (you need Clonetroopers for that ).EnterpriseSovereign wrote:Stormtroopers vs Redshirts? I'd say that the battle of Wolf-359 might be best, at least for the sequel , since it would be easier to show, say a heavily damaged, malfunctioning Acclamator ripping through Trek ships like tissue paper

Funny how trekkies seem to forget that the Stormtroopers were under orders to let the rebels escape on the DS1, Bespin and to take prisoners, not kill at Endor.EnterpriseSovereign wrote:Stormtroopers vs Redshirts? There will be no problem making the movie five minutes long. The ISD will enter the Milky Way, there will be a plot device, but not character shields.
Ok, time to work on the teaser...

I've heard that several times--Bespin I suppose I could imagine, but DS1? Why would that be? What material stated that the stormies were ordered to miss just barely over and over again, while getting shot?Darth Servo wrote:Funny how trekkies seem to forget that the Stormtroopers were under orders to let the rebels escape on the DS1, Bespin and to take prisoners, not kill at Endor.EnterpriseSovereign wrote:Stormtroopers vs Redshirts? So on the Death Star, how exactly is the tracking beacon going to be used again if the Princess and the others don't escape? Blind luck?Covenant wrote:I've heard that several times--Bespin I suppose I could imagine, but DS1? Why would that be? I always though that was just Plan B. Afterall, Vader has Leia who couldn't resist torture forever and there's no reason to think she would have the Falcon fly straight to the Rebel's base. And even that plan B only worked because despite Han and Leia realising something was wrong about their escape, they still didn't bother to search the ship for the beacon or have leia transferred to another ship for the final leg to the base.Ghost Rider wrote:So on the Death Star, how exactly is the tracking beacon going to be used again if the Princess and the others don't escape? If the Stormtroopers really were ordered to take a fall, it's not exactly the most airtight of plans.

Tarkin: yes?
Imp officer over intercom: We've captured a freighter entering the remains of the Alderaan system. Its markings match those of a ship that blasted its way out of Mos Eisley.
Vader: They must be trying to return the stolen plans to the princess. She may yet be of some use to us.
Obi-Wan exiting tractor beam control scene
Stormie 1: Do you know whats going on?
Stormie 2: Maybe its another drill.
DS1 after Falcon escapes
Tarkin: Are they away?
Vader: They've just made the jump into hyperspace.
Tarkin: You're sure the homing beacon is secure abord their ship? I'm taking an awful risk Vader. This had better work.
Falcon cockpit after escape
Han: Not a bad bit of rescuing. You know sometimes I amaze even myself.
Leia: That doesn't sound to hard. They let us go. Its the only explanation for the ease of our escape.
Han: Easy? You call that easy?
Leia: They're tracking us.

Even if you're right, they STILL would be ordered to not shoot to kill. Afterall, Leia wouldn't be any good to them dead.Bounty wrote:I always though that was just Plan B. The stormie one proves they are NOT under orders to kill the intruders since orders like "intruders matching this description are to be shot on sight. This is not a drill" won't lead two stormies to wonder if it might be a drill.Bounty wrote:The other quotes don't prove anything but this is pretty damning. Leia spells out that they were indeed being tracked and Tarkin confirms the planted homing beacon.

One last thing, Tarkin had ordered Leia to be terminated right before they capture the Falcon so clearly they weren't planning to interrogate her anymore.

It expands upon it that Tarkin specifically says "They are probably congratulating themselves on their daring and success."Bounty wrote:The other quotes don't prove anything but this is pretty damning. Still this more then shows unless proof otherwise that both Tarkin and Vader were in on something specific, rather then just go "Let's see what happens."
Also like Servo showed in quotes, Leia actually says given the ease of their escape. She notes that the fact they left that place in such a manner was unusual and notes the inclination of tracking. A little odd given that they had easily the power to snuff these people's lives out, and as to coming back to the original point?
Both ANH and RoTJ demonstrate that Stormtroopers can do snap shots(RoTJ) as well as Obi Wan noting their accuracy. they are not the bumbling babbons people constantly make them to be.

Damn no edit button Doesn't Tarkin saying he's taking a risk indicate it was deliberate?

I always wanted to see the Stormtroopers actually in action. Besides when they shoot at the hero characters or Ewoks, Stormies generally burst into a room, fire at the camera, and then run past dead rebels. Obi-Wan had a great deal of respect for their marksmanship though--so they must have been pretty effective soldiers.
