Ultimate Star Wars vs Star Trek Movie

how can anyone vote for the galaxy over the soveriegn? the only advantage the galaxy has over the sovereign is internal space... which i guess would make it a disadvantage in such a one sided fight

I suggest you reread the OP. The question is not which ship has the slightly less inexistant chance of survival, but which one do you want to see.
Even if you simply like the viuals of the Galaxy over the Sovereign that's a perfectly valid reason to prefer the Galaxy (I, personally, consider the Sovereign butt-ugly for example). Especially as both die on the first hit, anyway.

Anyway, how long do you think it will be before the Rabid Stupid Asshole makes his "rebuttal" to this project ie, blatent copying and reversal of making the Trek shuttle destroy the Executor with one shot?Lord Poe wrote:Uh, hey gents, just in case anyone's forgotten:

English, Motherfucker, do you understand it?Phil Skayhan and I are planning a SW vs ST machinima movie, about 5 minutes long. Which Federation ship do you want to see a Star Destroyer duke it out with?

I'm pretty safe. His website has ground to a halt as he struggles to write that SW vs ST fanfic to counter Mike's that he announced quite a while back! His visual skills leave a lot to be desired; he tried making an "answer video" to the first "Trek Miss" which resulted in him being laughed at by SW AND ST fans!Darth Servo wrote:You just can't help the blatent plugs for your work, can you Wayne? Yup. Here, relive the magic!
I like the look fo the Soverign better, but the Galaxy is more readily recognized, thus giving this movie broader appeal. Further, I would think it would be easier to model. So I'll go with that.

I really wonder why anyone would bastardize the art of writing just to prove his side would win. It's one thing to make a fanfic - even a crossover one - because you like the characters or setting and have a story to tell, but how the hell can you write a compelling narrative when your goal isn't to make a story but a pamphlet?Knife wrote:I don't understand why he's not done yet. You'll just end up describing in detail how your side is better and your audience will know from the very first chapter who is going to win and why - all that's left to do is show just how glorious your side's victory is. Why anyone would waste time on that...

I don't think many have actually read it, perhaps a chapter or two. The pain was horrible.....Ghost Rider wrote:

I've read the whole thing. I like the man's site, bless his heart, but he cannot write an interesting story if his life depended on it. "Look, thousands more ISD's pouring in! Now we're slightly in danger!" - regardless of the whole VS debate, nerfing your enemy to the point where they only pose a vague threat is not the way to keep your fic readable.Knife wrote:I don't think many have actually read it, perhaps a chapter or two. And he appears to have a phobia of descriptive text.
Meh, as fansites go, it's ok. EAS is better for trek related stuff. But the man is born to write stereo directions, not fanfics nor actual storys.Bounty wrote:

Could be worse.
See?Pulling this out of my ass in five minutes I wrote: Six Starfleet craft suddenly warped in above the ISD Vainglorious Fudgepacker.
Captain Istvaan looked up from his cup of tanna and arched his eyebrow at his second-in-command, Briggs, and inquired archly, "I thought we had destroyed the Starfleet?"
"Sir, we must've missed a few. Shall I tell the fore quadrant gunners that they have some more target practice ahead?"
Istvaan sniffed and lifted his pinkie as he sipped his tea delicately; Briggs gave the appropriate orders.
Seconds later, furious green lances darted forth from the Star Destroyer's nose; six explosions of plasma later, Istvaan spilled some tea upon his uniform as a futile photon torpedo piffled against the bridge shields.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

On the flipside there was Kaz's work. Both it and Portal are really just bad stories no matter how one cuts it, and honestly you gotta wonder why did either of them write their respective fics.

I was able to get through halve of portal, before the sheer stupidity of it made me stop. Having done that I wish to see it from the other side, but a have not been able to find a link or copy of star destroy rampant anywhere. anybody have it stashed somewhere?
If a black-hawk flies over a light show and is not harmed, does that make it immune to lasers?

that being said i still like the sovereign better, even if its only purpose for being there is to suddenly explode.

It's symbolic. The Enterprise-D vs. an ISD is the original versus debate. Sure the Sovereign might be a better ship, but it isn't as recognizable or as widely renowned as the good ol' Galaxy-class.phred wrote:how can anyone vote for the galaxy over the soveriegn? the only advantage the galaxy has over the sovereign is internal space... which i guess would make it a disadvantage in such a one sided fight
