In a momentary mental trainwreck of nostalgia for traditional MMOs, temporary insanity, and an idle desire to give WoW the finger, I bought EverQuest II on an impulse. Other than its nine fucking CDs it looks pretty interesting; my kind of MMO, at least to tide me over until Vanguard and Warhammer Online.
So anyway, does anyone here play, and on what server? Any tips for an EQ-n00b (I've never played either EQ, though I've plenty of MMO under my belt)? What's hot and what's not at the moment?

Re: EQ II players?
I don't understand why anyone would want to play Vanguard. It's being designed by the guy responsible for EQ, not as a game, but as a device to addict players and keep them playing just on the edge of hating it for as long as possible. It's going to be even worse of a game than WoW.Brother-Captain Gaius wrote:In a momentary mental trainwreck of nostalgia for traditional MMOs, temporary insanity, and an idle desire to give WoW the finger, I bought EverQuest II on an impulse.
