Well, they were newly developed in FC anyway and that was 10 years ago, and we know they've been fitted to ships as old as the Excelsior class since, but it won't really help unless they're used in truly massive numbers, something the Federation doesn't do.Cpl Kendall wrote:QT aren't general issue anyways. So are you going to actually quantify this or not fucktard?EnterpriseSovereign wrote:Well, they were newly developed in FC anyway and that was 10 years ago, and we know they've been fitted to ships as old as the Excelsior class since, but it won't really help unless they're used in truly massive numbers, something the Federation doesn't do.Cpl Kendall wrote:QT aren't general issue anyways. what I'm saying is that it depends on how many ships are in the fleet, whether they're combat-capable, and whether they'll concentrate their fire on one part of the ship or not since it makes a massive difference. Whether they're up to the job or not, they'll be taken out with a single hit each, in much the same way as the Borg cube did to many Fed ships in FC, even the warships.

I like it how you doubt the validity of the Wars numbers but don't show any numbers whatsoever yourself.

To be honest, I think you guys are coming down a little hard on him. While he's made a few bogus claims, they're not particularly important. If he's admitting the weapons need to be several orders of magnitude more powerful to do any real damage, any other disputes are trivial.

Ghost Rider, wouldn't the shields regenerate faster than those ships can bring it down?Ghost Rider wrote: No, it doesn't.
I'll put it in real simple terms. A single Federation ship pumps out MT worth of firepower, let's give the abosolute upper end of 300 MT per sec for shits and giggles.
An ISD shields are rated around mid Teraton to possible Petaton power...we'll say mid teraton or 10 TT.
For the ISD to begin to FEEL a shot from the federation FLEET(of say 50 ships)...they need around 11 minutes, and the ISD, sits there and does shit.
So really dumbfuck, it doesn't matter.

Actually yes they would. Hell, My federation bit was completely wanked at that level. My whole point is if the ISD did nothing and just let the shield sit there...it would take that long, let alone it moving and deciding to ram the little bastards.Steven Snyder wrote:Ghost Rider, wouldn't the shields regenerate faster than those ships can bring it down?Ghost Rider wrote: No, it doesn't.

While true, I dislike when a person makes a claim and when someone goes "Back it up" they instantly revert to "Well, I don't know all the details but it kinda coulda maybe can happen...sorta."Darth Wong wrote:To be honest, I think you guys are coming down a little hard on him. It would be good to see a movie with accurate scaling simply because a lot of people don't seem to have a good instinctive feel of how much bigger an ISD is, when compared to something like a GCS. It's not just the length; it's the solidity. An ISD should look quite obviously far more massive than a GCS if you show the two of them in close proximity with a moving viewpoint so that you can get a really good feel of their relative sizes.OmegaGuy wrote:To get the thread back on track, how accurate will the scale of the ships be?

I'm using the "Bridge Commander " mod for most of this, and it seems pretty accurate. Just for shits n' giggles, I had the sovvie ram the ISD the other day, and it looked like it was hitting a mountain from the angle of impact. However, the sovvie (being 700m long?) looks right to scale when doing a topside flyover.OmegaGuy wrote:To get the thread back on track, how accurate will the scale of the ships be?
Phil set the tone of the flick. I was starting a little too serious, but what's the fun in that? This way will be so much more fun!
Also, I've tried replicating the "First Contact" uniforms, but I'm not that accomplished a skinner, so the Trek crew will wear the TNG uniforms I already have.
The Wars ships were probably scaled against the stock Sovereign. By the way, do you already have the CG Sovereign? Much better then the stock one.I'm using the "Bridge Commander " mod for most of this, and it seems pretty accurate.

Ah cool, I was wondering because it is a nicer model, and he wanted no names attached(so it isn't the Enterprise versus...it's just NCC-1890 versus ISD Justice).Bounty wrote:The pack comes with 11 different registry sets:

I'm ok at photoshop, its just the skinning tutorials for all these different games that are giving me a headache! So far, I'm using Bridge Commander, Elite Force 2, Jedi Outcast, and The Movies for this flick. I hope re-skinning the name on these ships will be easier than creating these costumes!Bounty wrote:And if he's good with Photoshop he came make his own.
I'm not a game modder or a skinner, but I've had to delve into all these areas recently. I think everyone should try Machinima. I found a whole level for Elite Force that was an accurate replica of the Titanic interior. I also found an incredible Jedi Outcast map of Vader's Meditation chamber.
Wow, that's great! I'll definitely have to use it!Bounty wrote:In-game. That's on my outdated PC, resized from 1280x960 - it's really a very good model.Bounty: saw the ship. Is that from the game or cutscenes? Its great!
Also, the author has included a template in the pack for peopleto name their own ships. I'll have to study this!

The Galaxy-class. But maybe, after taking a beating, the Fed ship can escape into Imperial space or somewhere where the Empire has at least a presence. Maybe it can duke it out against a Tartan patrol cruiser or some other type of Imperial vessel considerably weaker than a ISD.
