Graphic designers for logos?
Does anybody know any people who do corporate or product logos and graphic designs?

I've got a friend who does that down in AU, but I think he's too busy for any commission work. If you had a question about the process, though, he might be able to answer.
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Yeah, RThurmont does this stuff for a living. Though I don't think he's the actual guy at the drawing board making the pretty pictures.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. He's one of the business types, exclusively marketing I'd say since I've never seen him discuss artwork or graphics and that his work is 'beyond human comprehension.'
I only do graphic design as a minor hobby, although I'm certified with Photoshop and can do the essentials of skewing and beveling logos.

The graphic designer for my boss's spin off company is pretty good. His site, if you're interested, can be found here.Darth Wong wrote:Does anybody know any people who do corporate or product logos and graphic designs?

I'm chief executive officer of Integral Identity, a brand experience consultancy. Corporate and brand identity design is a major part of what we do, in fact, earlier this week we just put the finishing touches on a new brand identity for an Austin-based IT client (to which I will link you as soon as we complete their website, or alternately, interested viewers can PM me with an e-mail address to see final artwork, the client willing).
Two great resources on our field: Brandchannel and Identityworks.
In addition to CI work, my firm has also done brand strategy and brand experience consulting projects for clients such as Unilever.
Also, for the record, not only do I do a substantial portion of my firm's creative work myself, but I'm also a professional member of the AIGA and an award winning artist. I'm also a VP of Communications for the Southern California American Marketing Association, and a member of the Design Management Institute.

edit: added link to website

You should get someone to redesign your website. It looks more like a popup window than a legitimate page.RThurmont wrote:I'm chief executive officer of Integral Identity, a brand experience consultancy. Assuming that isn't a terrible forced joke, have you looked at the current logo recently?Comosicus wrote:if we go for that, I dare suggest that the whole site would use a redesign.

You know, collaborating on some graphic tweaks to the website could be rather enjoyable. Assuming you guys have software that can integrate with my workflow. Otherwise, it would be somewhat along the lines of "NOOOO!!! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THAT CLIPPING MASK???"

Photoshop is professional grade software, and it is professionally licensed, dummy
However, you'd probably also want a vector graphics program such as Illustrator or CorelDraw, both of which cost roughly the same as PhotoShop. In the case of a hobbyist who wants to do advanced graphics, and who already has PhotoShop, the best bet is to just buy another vector program, rather than getting CS2, as its highly unlikely you'd need to use the advanced typographic controls of InDesign, nor export DRM'ed PDFs.
Of course, some designers, such as Stefan Sagmeister, frequently eschew the digital route all together, in favor of creepier approaches to design, such has having their assistants manually cut letterforms into their skin (NSFW).
