FilePlanet started the CoH open beta yesterday. Multiplayer only, plus tutorial.

Well, board ate my post and I haven't felt like retyping things until now, so...

Pleasantly surprised. Much cooler than I thought it would be. So far I haven't had a chance to play with Allies much, but I've done plenty of battles with Axis now. The Terror tree is balls, but the Blitz is nice and I think Defensive is easily my favorite (mm, reinforce around bunkers).

Part of me laments that the fact that this is the game DoW should have been. To me, at least, CoH has far more "brutal war" feel and less "rts lol" than DoW, not to mention all the mechanics that are sorely missing in DoW (mostly with the Guard).

Anyways, anyone else playing it?

I played the closed Beta, was fun... Battles were frantic and fast paced.

Nasty time happens when you can use the Biltz ability to call in a Tiger Ace... The ownage before he went down was insane.

Of course it's not even vaugly realism based, last time I checked twenty bazookas to the side of the Tiger did not in-fact only knock off 10% of his heath.

I get disconnected from every game I play

Got the suggestion to reinstall/redownload from the relic forums, which I shall try tonight however.

Theoretically a lot of the server and client stability issues are being patched today.
