Yes, I understood the question... Favourite Force User, and everyone's opinions and answers are justified.

My point was that the question seems to want to lead us into considering The way our "favourite" uses the force, not simply who is our favourite Jedi / Sith. This is to take nothing away from Obi-Wan's or anyone else's bility to use the force... But in the movies, "use of the force" is pretty much limited to force-pushing and force-pulling, with the occasional acrobatic leap. But since the original trilogy, Yoda has always been depicted as a character deeply in-tune with the Force, to the point where it was the greatest shock of all time to see him draw a lightsaber in EpII.

In conclusion, the distinction I'm making is this: Everybody in this thread cited their favourite Jedi, and proceeded to defend their choice through argumentation of why that Jedi is great. But in that argumentation I didn't see many attempts to bolster one's pick through examples of how they use the Force.
That's because that's not what the OP was asking. The OP is very straightforward: which is your favorite force user. Nothing about who uses it more effectively or whatever (in which case, EU Wankatine or one of the other wanked out Sith Lords would crush Yoda anyway). He probably only used "Force user" because it's more concise than "Jedi, Sith, or non-aligned character with force powers". Unless there are some invisible words in the OP that only you can read, your extra conditions exist entirely in your imagination.

If you like Yoda best because he mastered the force, great. Super. Say that and move on. Chiding the rest of us for not meeting your imaginary requirements is not necessary and for sure and for certain it's not welcome.

And incedentally, if you think those were flames, you're in for a rough time around here.

OK, I can accept that argument as grounds for my mis-interpretation.

Here's a hint: Can the attitude and shove it back where it came from, or you will have it done to you. If you fuck up, like you did now, you will be flamed to a cinder for it until you properly admit to it, and using that condescending rolling eye smiley will get you just more of the same because it's obvious you aren't the least bit interested in actually owning up to your mistake.

If you don't like the way we run things here, you can fuck off and nobody will miss you.

Ahem, well, moving on....

I also suppose I should go with the crowd and my gut instinct and mention Mr. Kenobi. Yes he's popular, but he's one of those few characters who has not had his coolness factor diminshed by a poorly done depiction of him in some trashy EU nonsense. Luke would be up there, but sadly I've read too many stories where he just sucks for that to be possible.

I hope you'll allow me one last attempt at clearing this up. I find that in the writing of short posts, the fine line between irony and sincerity is often blurred. When I said: "I can accept that argument as grounds for my mis-interpretation" I was trying to be sincere. Yes, the smiley ruined it, I removed it from the original post. Sorry.

Mine would have to be Qui Gon Jinn. I like his interpretation of the force. His willingness not to listen to the orginized religion and follow his own path.

Any books on Dooku and Qui Gon as Master and Padawan?

Yoda and Vader both in TESB. Yoda for his sense of humor, and Vader for being the one running the show - even when bowing to Palpatine he had a fair handle on the situation

Luke Skywalker, Yoda (particularly for ESB), and Darth Vader.

I have to second Qui-Gon. (or am I thirding?) He seemed to be the type of Jedi that they should have been. And I dig they way he fucked with Padme' in TPM.

Man, how bad ass would Anakin have been if Qui-Gon got to train him. ooooooooooo

I think Qui-Gon would have actually listened to Anakin. Several times Anakin reached out to Obi-Wan about his hopes and fears, and each time Obi-Wan replied with crappy Jedi platitudes. Palpatine was able to sway Anakin because he was one of the few who seemed to understand him and treat him like a man.

Do us all a favor and choke yourself. Barring that, at least shut the fuck up.

And I'm gonna go with Obi wan. He is the only one we see defeat a Sith. Quigon gets killed. Yoda gets distrated by Tyranus, and Sidious kicks his ass. Anakin gave into his hate, which was the entire point of the excersize, so he lost by winning.

Do you think it was his hatred or more a fear of disapointing Palpatine? He did hesitate and even said it was wrong. He wasn't in a blind rage or anything like he was when he killed the sandpeople. I mean, fuck, the way Palps says; "DO IT!" I would have done it too :)

Movie : Obi-wan Kenobi, although if Qui-Gon had sticked around longer he may have made Obi-wan second.

Yes, while drawing upon the dark side. Hence why he stopped himself. And if you want to argue that, I'll change it to "kill" instead of defeat.

he did it with style. 8)

It's a tossup for me between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.

One of the things I liked about Obi-Wan is that as the quintessential Jedi, he and Qui-Gon seemed to be much more 'living the Jedi way' than Yoda was, who, although a powerful light-side user, had become caught up in the politics of it all and allowed the Order to stagnate.
