I took this in July 2003 and use it for a desktop now and again, mostly because I thought the tiny little cricket in the center (most easily viewed at the higher resolutions linked here) looks kind of cool:

Is that a cricket or is it a stink bug? It's very hard to see it even when I blow the picture up...FSTargetDrone wrote:I took this in July 2003 and use it for a desktop now and again, mostly because I thought the tiny little cricket in the center (most easily viewed at the higher resolutions linked here) looks kind of cool:

Those are some loverly desktops. I don't normally participate in this forum, but I was compelled when I saw Bounty's desktop. It was interesting for me because I use that same wallpaper on my work computer.
On my other work computer I use another piece by the same artist:
(That black section was purposely cut out.)
And because I'm a completist, here's what is currently on my home computer:

Life, your whole life, is changes. It goes back and forth throughout your whole life. Desktops are not exempted, and so I bid my previous wallpaper farewell and welcomed this one:
And why not Haruhara Haruko? Here is a very strange woman seeking Unlimited Power. Plus she uses a fucking Rickenbacker Model 4003 bass guitar as weapon and rides around on a Vespa. Don't mess.

Now that's a clean desktop. 2 desktop icons and 9 items on the dock menu. And the dock menu hides unless the mouse cursor is over it.
Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. And we will probably be judged not by the monuments we build but by those we have destroyed.--Ada Louise Huxtable, "Farewell to Penn Station", New York Times editorial, 30 October 1963

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
