Another example is how a sink could drain gallons of water if you only turn the faucet to a small setting, but pouring in an entire bucketfull of water simultaneously will result in a wet kitchen.

I would suggest 'overextended generalization fallacy' would be descriptive enough for casual debate in lieu of the official 'fallacy of accident', which isn't very descriptive unless you're already familiar with it.
