Want good story?
Get System Shock 2. It's like slower paced Doom. You have to be very careful, as running and gunning will get you killed. Ammo and weapons are hard to come by, you'll probably find yourself bashing through hordes of shotgun-weilding zombies with a wrench to save those bullets for something more dangerous.
One thing though, there is shit for weapon variety. Only Standard and Heavy weapons are worth your precious upgrades.

SS2 and Deus Ex are both phenomenal games. They're both older and graphics about the Half Life Era (one using it's own engine, and the other Unreal-baseD), but are both excellent. SS2 has better feel of horror and mood, while DX has a storyline that gets complexier as it goes along.Adrian Laguna wrote:Want good story?

Both are great games still. SS2 is more of a survival game on a spaceship with problem solving and such, while DX is a kind of stealth action game. (or rocket launcher killing spree game, depending on your character)
Actually, I consider it an utter damnation of the entire development community that Shock2 is still the single best story driven FPV game. even with the Body of the Many

But noooo, all we get to do is thwart alien invasion after alien invasion (HL2, Prey, hang your heads in shame!)
Yes, get Shock 2. Be prepared to panic, squeal, and gibber like a little girl when the Rumblers come for you. If you can get past the spiders, that is.
