It's because they'd raise a big fat fucking stink over it. They might be ridiculous but some people listen to them, some follow them and together they're enough to cause trouble.

Even though the doll was a hit, several shoppers at the Hampton Wal-Mart complained, said Kitty Worley, who works in the toy section of that store. Some customers told her they wouldn't buy the new Midge dolls because they didn't want their little girl playing with a pregnant doll and that the Barbie line of dolls is supposed to be a role model for young girls.

If you don't want your kids playing with the doll, then don't buy the doll! Idiots. I have a feeling this is just a publicity stunt. It will be forgotten about in no time and the pregnant doll will remain. How many people still talk about the old 'Barbie is a freak of nature' thing?
