Is this appropriate?

Post by Superman »

Obviously no, but...

My retarded supervisor where I work automatically assumes everyone is like her and likes to spam my email with her forwarded Church bullshit.

Here's an example I got today.
also placed my vote, please do the same. It is times like this that I am embarrassed to say I live in California. This only takes a few minutes, so please take the time and call.

This is not a joke! I actually called the phone number and it is real. Look it up for yourself if you'd like. I voted, it's your turn. I don't know about you but I don't want my kids to see that stuff! God Bless, Kim

California legislators have passed a bill, SB1437, that indoctrinates school children with the homosexual agenda. The bill requires that all new text books (k-12) highlight homosexuals and eliminate all references to "mom" and "dad." S UMMARY of the "Campaign for Families and Children" [for in depth analysis see: www.savecalifornia.com ]: SB 1437 expressly prohibits textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities from "reflecting adversely" on transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality. Instructional materials could not just say "a husband and wife," but must include "two wives who are married lesbians." Sex education assemblies would have to include information on sex changes (to avoid "reflecting adversely"). This bill is ridiculous, it's expensive and it singles out a small special interest group. We don't need elementary school children exposed to this nonsense A person's sexual orienation should remain in the bedroom, NOT THE CLASSROOM!

The governor is doing a phone poll. Urge him to veto this bill. It's very easy, you don't even have to talk to anyone. Just follow the instructions below:

Please call the governor's office at 1-916-445-2841. The phone recording will ask:

A. Do you want this message in English?" yes, press 1
B. Is this in regards to a legislation bill? yes, press 2
C. Is the bill SB 1437? yes, press 1
D. Are you in favor of this legislation? no, press 2

It takes less than 30 seconds to make the call -- and to express your opinion. Please feel free to pass this message along to your California friends
If you want to read the actual bill, something I'm sure none of these worthless religios assholes have done, you can here here

True to form, they have no idea as to what they're talking about.

The last time one of my wife's retarded fundie relatives forwarded that kind of shit to me, I shot back with a detailed dissection of all the lies, errors, and stupidities in it and asked how they could be so damned stupid and gullible that they bought it at face value. They never sent another one.

I, fortunately, do NOT get those kinds of emails. However, you should post what you're going to send back. Maybe some people will want to make some additions and live vicariously through you. =)

Oh yeah! Absolutely.

I need to find a text document of this bill so I can do some copy and pasting, not just the pdf version.

Slightly off topic, but just so you know in the future PDF readers like Adobe and Foxit feature text grabbing tools so you can highlight the text and copy/paste. No need to spend time hunting down a text only version. ;)

If you really wanted to stick it to her then claim harrasment for these kinds of e-mails creating a hostile working enviroment.

As a side note her forward is the worst sort of distortion and it makes you wonder how people who write them up initially sleep at night after bringing the sheep in to the herd.

I'd love to see the bill they've got in their heads... "whereby all instructional materials in California schools which assosciate a man with a woman must also include all reasonable gender combinations, IE man with man, woman with woman, dominant woman with man, intersex with intersex, man with man with woman with intersex with donkey, etc. Stickers will be provided to teachers, who must personally place them in all curriculum texts."

What a bunch of deceptive assholes. I hope you forward her the real text of the bill and expose this bullshit. I suppose your supervisor got a "summary" of the bill from her minister?

Find a lawyer who specializes in workplace discrimination and sit down for 10 minutes to see if you have an actual case as well as one they would be willing to bring for you.

Personally, I wouldn't sue unless you feel this has crossed the line from annoyance to major problem (I assume it hasn't, from the relatively nonchalant manner in which you speak of this). If not, then keep in mind that suing someone for being a total dipshit generally isn't accepted in court.

No, since it's a textbook sticker, it must follow the proper format:

"This textbook contains material on heterosexuality. Heterosexuality is a theory, not a fact, regarding sexual orientation. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered."
