Hey pal... Maul doesn't whip out the second blade when its one-on-one. Witness his first fight with Qui-Gon.

Besides, its only available in multiplayer in Jedi Outcast, and its just a woodsman's overhead chop!

Oh, I didn't realize you were using Outcast. Academy has double-bladed saber support built in.

Also, Vader would totally WTFPWN Maul everytime.

JA is on its way to me as we speak!

Not so sure about that. A neophyte like Luke managed to score a couple points off of Vader in TESB.

Yeah, but Vader wasn't playing for keeps. Also Luke, while a neophyte, is more powerful (or as powerful, it matters little) than his father was.

Plus, it turns out that the Vader vs. Maul short story is supposedly one of the few SW Tales that is canon. Vader > Maul.

Of course, that thing wasn't actually Maul, just some sort of Dark Force puppet. Nevertheless, I don't doubt that Vader was more powerful, at least in his prime. In terms of stamina, Force power, and intelligence, Darth Vader is superior; I would imagine that more than makes up for his inability to jump around like a marionette.

I really shouldn't make anymore of these...but I was laughing my ass off the other day when I had Old Ben and Vader battling each other! I set it in the Death Star hangar, and I was thinking this is how the ANH battle should have looked! If Count Dooku can flit around like a teenager, then Obi-Wan should do it, too!

I never bought into the whole "Cripple vs. Old Man" sentiment that has sort of picked up around the fight in ANH either. To me it really cheapens the moment, the final conflict between two old friends turned enemies.

Speaking of Obi-Wan vs Ben, if you own a console you might seriously consider getting the Episode III game. It should be dirt cheap now, and it has an awesome duelling function- including an Darth Vader and old Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Death Star level. That fighting looks awesome.

Yes, including the fact that they can still both jump around like crickets, and the way the ol' "mechanical arms" Vader can shoot out enough lightning to power Manhattan.

But yes, it is cool.

In the video? Star Wars: (Dark Forces 3) Jedi Knight (II): Jedi Outcast

The other one we're talking about is Star Wars: (Dark Forces 4) Jedi Knight (III): Jedi Academy

And the last one that's been mentioned has been Star Wars Episode III The Video Game.

In the Episode III video game that's possible. There's a multiplayer mode that's somewhat like a fighting game, and two of the characters you can select are the young and old Obi-Wan. Same thing with Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader.

Maul was kicking Vader's ass in Poe's film and then all of a sudden Vader just starts taking Maul's head clean off a couple of times in a row.

I loved the one where he force chokes him, then throws his saber at him and cuts his head off!

I'm actually thinking of pulling this video; it looks like shit. It would be MUCH better if they were both NPCs, like in Luke vs Vader. Then Maul would be jumping around all over the place. And, I'm trying a new compression method that doesn't make the video look like it was filmed underwater.

If I could find a way to make Luke into the Maul skin, that would be great. Or, just re-film it in Jedi Academy.

I'm still thinking about putting together an Old Ben vs. Vader! It looks great!

It was a typo, I meant Ben vs Vader on the Death Star, but yes, you can do Ben vs Obi-Wan.

Anakin vs Darth Vader is awesome too, because the developers really put the effort in- they have Vader and Anakin say shit to each other as if they really were fighting their past/future.

Whoa, like what??

And he had to kill the Maul clone (not a 'puppet', it was a clone IIRC) by sticking his lightsaber through his own fucking chest bare seconds before he was decapitated... :P

It was a pretty close match from what I remember, really. Both of 'em got digs in, but Vader basically only got his victory through a desperation tactic that he survived mainly due to his toughness and bodysuit.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.
