does anybody here know the size of the United Earth Directorate in Starcraft, the manuel for the Confederate holding to be 12 systems or worlds?
the UED must had a considerablely larger industrial base then the confedercy or the terran dominion that followed it.

Regarding their fast FTL drives, the UED surely occupies a vast territory, but their industrial base must not necessarily be larger than that of the Terran Dominion - habitable planets are very scarce in SC, much rarer than in other SciFi. No clue is given if the UED has more resources except for the fact they send a large invasion force, but:
The UED troops probably started their journey with transports and fast frigate-sized ships (Valkyries), and acquired the other equipment (including the DSS Aleksander) once they arrived in the sector.
The resources of the invasion force were no doubt relatively small, hence the mission where you've got to steal battlecruisers.
