LOTR:TTT: Tycho's gripes and praises (***SPOILERS!***
Well, yippee, I saw TTT Wed evening, and I gotta tell ya, I really loved it.
The movie was very artistic and dramatic, and very epic.
But, like Stravo, I have some gripes( some the same, some different)
1.Like Stravo said, all the additional scenes and very large changes in the storyline ( elves at Helm's deep, etc. etc.)
2. NO SHELOB!?!?WTF!?('')
3. Length. No, it was not too long, it was too short. (No, really.)
Some parts of the movie felt rushed at some times, and other times they dragged. And another problem: why the hell didn't they have a 5 minute intermission? My bladder was
gonna burst after the first hour, but I didn't want to miss any of it. (ok, common problem for alot of us without magical urinary tracts).
Actually, 2 short intermissions would have been nice.
4. No new music. I would have liked to have heard that cool music they played during alot in the previews, it was pretty cool.
Well, I would like to say more, but my current shitty dial-up has just about had it.

The "cool new music" during the trailers was a remix of the theme for Requiem for a Dream (which was a FUCKED UP MOVIE btw)
Oh, if there was a lot of new music, then it'd be too inconsistent with the first. Not only that but they were all scored at the same time.

A quick 5-10 minute intermission would be a could idea. I had to miss a little bit to run out and pee. I never learn my lesson. I always have to have a Coke with my movie. But Im not 19 anymore. I used to be able to make it through a 2 hour movie with a 32 ounce drink. Not anymore. And certainly not for a 3 hour movie.3. Length. No, it was not too long, it was too short. (No, really.)

Well part of the key for the LotR trilogy will be that if you know the books you'll know when there is about to be a lull that you can miss.TrailerParkJawa wrote:A quick 5-10 minute intermission would be a could idea. Blasphemy. I would have my eyes surgically stitched open so as not to miss a SECOND of LotR.

Shelob's exclusion, IIRC, wasn't a story element; Jackson was unsatisfied with how the CGI looked, so he ended TTT right before Shelob so as to have an extra year to perfect it.

I don't mind Shelob being moved. Since LOTR is ONE BOOK, it just shows Jackson and co. adjusting the "windows" a little bit.

Its been so long since I read the Two Towers I remembered very little of the book. On the other hand, you are assuming the adaptation is faithful and nothing cool was added at an odd time. Its really not that bad though, if the movie rocks I will see it a second time and pick a different time to pee.Well part of the key for the LotR trilogy will be that if you know the books you'll know when there is about to be a lull that you can miss.
Did anybody complain when Boromir's death was moved to the first movie? I thought it was a good move. So I will reserve judgement on Shelob until after the third movie.Dalton wrote:I don't mind Shelob being moved.
