How Faram's naming of servers messes up

Post by Faram »

Of geneal intrest.

two of the internal webservers of my company has the host name rocco and jenna.

I asked for names of known pornstars way back and my boss thought it was cool to name the serers after rocco and jenna.

Well a big mail distrubution went out and instead of the url it read http//jenna/ and so on.

It works fineon the intranet where I have set up name resolution but on the internet...

The name resolves to Jenna Jameson at http://www.clubjenna.com/

Well a big mess insures and as fortune provides I am not at the office but at a cource on how to inplement CISCO PIX well, this is the first time I had over 300+ phone calls on my cell that I did not ansver.

My decision, stay out of the mess go to the pub drink some beers and type in this stuff.

I cannot wait untill the blamegame on Monday

Makes me glad I name my servers/pcs after German warships.
Marcus Aurelius: ...the Swedish S-tank; the exception is made mostly because the Swedes insisted really hard that it is a tank rather than a tank destroyer or assault gun
Ilya Muromets: And now I have this image of a massive, stern-looking Swede staring down a bunch of military nerds. "It's a tank." "Uh, yes Sir. Please don't hurt us."
