TV 2nd monitor problem
I have been trying all day to try to connect my 28" tv to my pc as a second monitor. I can usually manage this fine with two crt monitors however when i connect to the tv it flickers uncontrollably. The cable i am using is an s-video to s-video cable (both my tv and graphics card support this connector) and my graphics card is a radeon 9000 pro. Please let me know if you can shed any light on the subject.

what kind of TV is it? a lot of Tvs don't actually support being used as a monitor.

Just to let you know, you're not the only one with this problem. My brother can't connect his computer to his tv either. I've had no problem whenever I've done it with my computer though. Double check that your display settings are correct though.

I've not done it personally, but I know someone who has (they actually had a tv as their third monitor). The flickering strongly hints that you have the refresh rate set wrong for your tv, which should be pretty easy to fix in Windows XP. With your tv connected, right click on an empty portion of your desktop and click on "Properties". Click on the "Settings" tab, then select your second monitor (which should be the tv) and click the "Advanced" button. In here click on the "Monitor" tab, then adjust the Screen Refresh Rate. I don't know what to tell you to set it at, but trial and error should do it. It may actually be something else, but I think that should do it.
EDIT--actually, thinking back, I have hooked up tvs a couple of times without incident, but messing with the refresh rate for the tv should still serve you well.

You'll probably want a lower refresh rate for a TV compared to a CRT, I find 50-60hz works well for my TV while my moniter takes higher
