USVSM FX Test

Post by Lord Poe »

Here's a quick look at some FX tests for the "Star Wars vs Star Trek" movie. I've spent more time modding "Bridge Commander" by trial and error than I have filming the movie!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPwPl2x-I10

Most of these are just test scenes; not part of the actual movie. The voice overs are slowly trickling in...

Are you planning on using the default BC map for the movie? Because that nebula in the background can get very distracting, it's far too bright. Try the Deep Space map, or one of the others that has just a few planets.

Honestly looking good. Smooth transitons, though for the ISD, some points went darker then others and it looks a tad odd(but likely because monitor is more screwy then not).
MM /CF/WG/BOTM/JL/Original Warsie/ACPATHNTDWATGODW FOREVER!!

Sometimes we can choose the path we follow. Sometimes our choices are made for us. And sometimes we have no choice at all

I choose Deep Space in quickbattle, but it always has that nebula and annoying planet. Can you choose just "deep space"?

The ISD in the actual movie won't be moving all that much. That's the one from the BC mod. I'm most likely going to try to use the ISD from Jedi Academy for close-up beauty shots!

Now I have to figure out how to get my videos to look sharper on Youtube. I've seen it done!

Oh, hey Bounty, do you know of a way to turn off the "Arriving At..." text when the ships exit warp?

Not really. You might want to ask on a BC board, I think it can be done but I have no idea how.

I did, but no one's answered yet. I got really lucky that someone decided to answer me about the code to make the crew disappear! Now with the "Walk FX" mod (and a dozen others) I can use BC exclusively for the Trek side of things. I was going to use Elite Force and EF2, (for the Sovereign bride), but I can erase those games off my creaking hard drive now!

Is it possible to increase the frame rate?

Not for "The Movies", but when filming a game using "Fraps", you have an option to film from 10 to 30 FPS.

I though you were going to use a Sovereign class, not a GCS.

The Sovereign figures into the main story. This ship will be in the opening teaser, and there will be at least one other Galaxy class in it as well.

Ah, so the ISD will kick all three ship's asses?

I've decided to release the official title of the movie:

"THE LAST BASTION"

Let the speculating begin!

So the Rabid Stupid Asshole is the captain of the Sovereign. Careful Wayne. He'll REALLY start a jihad about your fantasies about killing him.

He already has those delusions, so why fight it? Besides, it won't really be based on a real life character. Just ask Traviss!

EDIT: Meet Captain RA Anderson, Captain of the USS Deplace:

Have RSA attempt every idiotic trektard tactic ever conceived and have his crew tell him they're all nonsense.

Captain: Let's beam a bomb on their ship.
Crew: um, Captain, transporters don't work through shields.
Captain: OK, let's warp straffe.
Crew: where did you get that idea?
Captain: well, our torps can vaporize bigger asteroids than they can.
Crew: um, we can fragment. They can vaporize.

etc.

Oh and call me ignorant but is the name 'Deplace' anything special or relevant to the most deluded trektard of all time?

I used the same trick that RSA used to eavesdrop on your mailing list. :angelic: (j/k)

Actually it's "Déplacé" if that will help you out.
