Looks like you can put MP3s up to play during the slideshows too, I *think*.
oh, and Ace Pace:

Oy Praxis, I fixed that in a later post, I was listening to the audio stream and didn't hear Reggie clearly.Praxis wrote:oh, and Ace Pace:Eh? They said games will be priced at $5, $8, and $10, no VC games will cost more than $10.Wii conference news flash: NES games at 5$, SNES at 8-12$.
I thought SSBB would use the GameCube controller? Or can it use both / the Classic controller can be used in place of a GC controller?Praxis wrote:However, not all games will support using the Classic controller. Super Smash Bros Brawl will, as will all virtual console games. Most games will use a one-handed remote or two-handed nunchuck/remote combo though.
That's the assumption. Personally, I'm keeping my wavebird.Mad wrote:I thought SSBB would use the GameCube controller? The only reason not to is money-grabbing, although that's not out of the question. This is the only console I'll be getting for a while at least, but $60 for a remote/nunchuck set? Ouch.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Considering the backwards-compatability of the Will with GameCube games, that's a good idea. So Stark, what were you saying about everything being more expensive in Australia?Gamespot wrote:Wii arrives in Europe on December 8 for £179

Nintendo has announced that its next-generation Wii console will hit Europe on December 8 for a recommended retail price of £179/249 euros ($335.87/$314.57). The release date puts the region's launch a few weeks behind the US, where it debuts on November 19, and Japan, where it hits stores on December 2. With the recent postponement of the PlayStation 3 in Europe until March 2007, Nintendo's Wii will be the region's only console launch this Christmas.
Australia will get the Wii slightly earlier, on December 7, for AU$399.95 (approx. £160/$300.38). Both the European and Australian packages will contain the white console, one Wii-mote controller, the nunchuck attachment, and the game Wii Sports. In Europe, software will cost £34 to £39 (49 to 59 euros), and there will be 15 to 20 games available from launch. Among the confirmed launch titles are The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Need for Speed: Carbon, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz.
As for accessories, Wii owners will be able to buy extra remotes for £29 (39 euros), a nunchuck for £14 (19 euros), and the classic controller for £14 (19 euros). For more details on the worldwide release of the Wii, check out GameSpot's launch centre.
Nintendo has stated explicitly that the Gamecube controllers will plug into a seperate port on the side. They have even showed the plugs in public.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Considering the backwards-compatability of the Will with GameCube games, that's a good idea. EDIT: It probably wouldn't be, though.
Why would the Wii be region-free in one area, but not another? It doesn't make sense from a manufacturing standpoint.Stark wrote:Er, but if NOA says it's region free, and I buy an US one...DPDarkPrimus wrote:NOE is apparently in disagreement with NOA about the Wii being region-free. Clarification will be needed before we can take either statements for fact.
And from what's already been reported, third-party publishers will be free to apply region coding to their games. Hopefully most will do the smart/cool thing and follow Nintendo's example.Archaic` wrote:Basically, the Wii drive does have a region code built into it, but games can be set to region free and be played on all systems. All Nintendo 1st party games will be set to region free.
