Well hitting him with a nuke will work, as will any other large scale explosive devices.

High level velocity sniper rifle, or a handgun @ 10 metres, any automatic/semi-automatic weapons.

Deflecting arrows is one thing, deflecting a bullet is another.

BTW:
Malavok wouldnt be able to glass New York. He could try, but simple size will defeat him. And it just makes him so much easier to hit with area effect weapons(cos he isnt going to be moving fast, compared to stuff we have)

at this high level, with the proper spells active, he could go against a tank...
And then he has invisibilty, and all the other nice spells at hand.
i think he should be able to wreak a huge amount of havoc...

Handy little spell called prismatic sphere

And with epic spells(my version of HADOKEN) he could glass the city

Actually, a cast number of spels could protect him from explosives...Energy buffer, wall of force etc

Or he just makes his reflex save, and dodges :D

And he actually has the hitpoiints to TAKE a hit from a bomb exploding next to him. he has ~8600 hp and his armor class, his armor class is 155

I fail to see how having a high armor class is going to make a nuclear explosion miss you.

Anyways, I think the mage will last a good long time and destroy tons of cities around the world. Until they nuke him, of course :mrgreen:

He wil not be able to dodge a nuke(he would make his reflex save for half damage though) But tha high ac will allow him to dodge bullets

He is able to survive direct hits with conventional explosives

Deflect bullets

And when he sees/hears the atomic bomb/icbm coming, he just quicened casts prismatic sphere, and is fine. :twisted: while continuing to rain death(literally as per the rain of fire spell) apon his enemies no less.

Hell he makes his spot check, he sees the nuke coming, ad detonates it prematurly using a lesser fire orb spell

Armour class is more than a reflection of how much physical armour you have on, it also reflects such things as magical protection speed etc. In this case this would repesent his prot spells I imagine. Anyway, such a shame all those levels where concentrated in one person, if we where to split it out a little we could try the summon Dragon spell....
From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '

He can his spellcraft check is high enough that he doesnt need to ritual cast it :twisted:

Tanks, guns nukes, has everyone gone looney? Just challenge him to a good old fashioned game of D&D (2nd or 3rd edition rules) and if you lose everyone dies, you win he goes back to....where ever.

Isn't the idea of the reflex safe throw against fireballs and such that you dodge behind some kind of cover and avoid some of the force of the blast?
I'd like to know what kind of cover is effective against a high-yeild nuke, say 2 megatons?

And you can't hear an ICBM's warheads as they are decending, their hypersonic and since they move too quickly to be seen with a naked eye, I think that the mage is fried.

Another way he could do it is simply siting inside his sphere ineach city he visits, using teleportation spells to travel.

He could also make a reflex save to put up a prismatic sphere(i love automatic quicken spell)

The mage wins. The battle is so one-sided it's not even funny.

With the spells foresight, telekinetic sphere and teleport there is no way to hit him.

Bullets? Telekinetic sphere can protect from ANY material harm and can only be brought down by a dispel magic or disintegrate spell. As though any modern army in the world could cast those. Same goes for helicopter missiles, tank guns, etc.

With nukes he could be killed by the radiation, but with quickened teleports he wouldn't even be there by the time it hit. And he could always use gate to reverse the nuke's course and drop in on one pf the major cities.

It's even worse if you use the "bloated corpse" technique and allow said mage to have a permanent emanation telekinetic sphere and evasion on at the same time. Or some other strange and lame combination of abilities.

The only way to beat him would be to wait until he's resting and then kill him. But at such high levels the wall of force spell (hell, any decent protective spell) will last for a whole lot more than the 8 hours he needs to rest, especially with the Persistent Spell metamagic feat.

And we're not even considering all the summons (call forth a pack of spell-casting Pit Fiends and Balors, epic dragons, xixecals, as well as other epic monsters) or the summoning of OTHER epic mages (I mean, if it's going to be one man vs. 50 million soldiers and all their guns tanks and bombs might as well even the odds a little by calling in Raistlin and the Simbul and compnay)

It lasts the full duration whether the mage sleeps or not. at least in p&p D&D which is higher cannon than games :twisted:

Or he could just cast "rope trick" and sleep in an extra-dimensional space

Uhhhh so he uses persistent spell to cast primatic sphere, sleeps inside it, wakes up to a storm of nukes detonating uselessly on his sphere, recasts all needed protections, then chain casts dispel magic and time stop and proceeds to summon more monsters and cause more havoc.

A mage of D&D does not even need to be 50 or more levels to defeat us. Even because there is almost no character of such level in the book but some god's avatars and they have not such stats (which are impossible to achive by the way).
But he does not need to sleep in this dimension, he does not need to show himself, he does need to be in the place he is attacking, he can use as much protection that one a area effect such a nuke will hit him, etc. But then, that is ridiculous.
And those stats...talk about extreme power rpging...
