You need to move fast on this board; a thread that doesn't get answered for a couple of days gets shuffled ot the bottom of the page really quick because there is a huge turnover to new subjects almost every day.
Yes I know, unfotunately I am quite busy, working three jobs, keeping my house from falling apart, and making sure my girlfriend continues to feel appreciated. :) Debating is always fun and interesting, but considering what little impact either me or vampyl will ever have on isreal / palestine, its not a high priority with me.
And yeah, a lot of 'liberlas' in the US dislike free trade because they equate it with giant corporations going to Indonesia and using slave workers to make sneakers and stuff.
This is true, the typical counterargument being that these are the only jobs those people can get. But thats a entirely different debate of its own

matus1976 wrote: Depends of course on your definition of 'liberal' One could say 'democracy' is a good thing, but the people in the Democratic Republic of Cambodia would probably say otherwise. While many people consider 'liberal' to be associated with freedom and openness to new ideas. In the US at least, it is also synonomouse with big government, paternalization, cultural relativism, political correctness, socialization, revisionist history, and post modernism (critiques of logic, science, and reason) and in many cases is focused on the promotion of a group at the expense of an individual. Liberals also condemn nuclear power, genetic engineering, foriegn intervention, cloning, free trade, open immigration, etc. etc. The extremism of liberals is represtented by the Green Party and the Social Anarchists, read up on what they support for some really scary stuff.
Weird. In the EU the definition of liberal is exactly the opposite.
Very true, I believe (this may not be 100% accurate) the the US connotation of 'libertarian' is very similiar to the European 'Liberal' while the US liberal has all the previously mentioned baggage attatched to it. Just goes to show that we cant causually toss around emotionally charged words when we can now routinely speak to people from every country in the world on forums such as these. I am not sure what the European equivalent of the US liberal is, as I am from the US.

Is anyone else getting the "General Error" when they try to post?
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
