Update: I managed to pick up some meshes relatively quickly. As the SEV race style information has already been released, I'm starting the Federated Suns 'ship'set.

Only fly in the ointment so far is that I won't be able to test the meshes properly until release, and that I doubt the troops will allow movement animations, so they'll be skating around instead of walking :P

Okay, for people sick of waiting around, you can help test the game out. I started a maximum technology game with two human controlled players and already did all the hard work--making a ship for each and every component in the modification. I built the ship's Captains and I'll probably test those on my own since they've got weirdass abilities, but for everything else it's a lot of work. I'm talking about checking to see if electron gun has +5% to hit, or if the planet maker works, or if the storm maker works. So if you want to help, it is appreciated.

The saved game is here. However, because I had to get to all the techs, I had to alter tech areas. Put TechArea.txt into data and the game in saved game (both in Nephtys Mod directory) and load it. The designs are conveniently named after their test component and also have engines and one weapon installed. The fastest way to do it would be to have each one of your planets build like 10 designs, and pressing end turn for ten minutes or so so you get a ship with every single component constructed. I made two empires to test out weird abilities like cloaking and cloak detection.

Also if you want the empire, the empire is here, with designs saved, in case you want to make your own game without two empires for faster single player testing (although you won't be able to test strange shit like cloak).

Thread's not dead, because the game is still going on.

http://seiv.pbw.cc/Download/filelib/140 ... pt.+18.zip

is the mod's release playable version. All major functions work and it's reasonably balanced. Let's kick each other's asses until SEV comes out in playable (and several patches later) form!

EDIT:
2K point races. Upload your files today! :D

I can't adjust intelligence and cunning in the racial traits screen. I thought we were going to work with zero given racial points and bring those two traits down to 50% to compensate a bit. Has the plan changed?

I figured 2k pts, so one can get at least a racial trait if you wished, instead of stats.

So we're actually ready to start now? I've just been ignoring news about this new game until I got a "Gentlemen, start your engines!" Is it for Gold or Deluxe?

I don't know. I have.. uh. Gold, I think. 1.94, + mod.

Yeah, we're ready to start. All main game stuff is in more or less working form. It's more complete than the B5 mod, that's for sure. :P

Don't forget the spiderizer.

Probably need to pm or e-mail spider and nova... they aren't in B5 so maybe they aren't watching the thread so closely. I don't blame them for not holding their breath :P.

Anyway, to all of you. My name is Central Speaker Quikley and you killed my mojo. Prepare to die .

It is good planet start right? Makes a difference for my race build.

As for rules lawyering. I am not eager to get into that again which is why Nephtys is boss. Hopefully it doesn't happen. The mod's too funny for nitpickers anyway.

Good planet. How many planets are we starting with? The number doesn't matter as much in this game, as we don't need to mass trillions of RPs.

Can you contact spider and nova for me? :P

What is it with evil gods/godesses. You think they could get off their ass sometimes instead of getting minions to do their dirty work .

E-mailing spider and nova now. Probably five planets, but I wouldn't mind one planet.

Sometimes when I start... I get an entire system full of buried cities, nebular drives and hulls. Other times I get a lot of traces of alien civilization. Anybody notice the planets seem to "cluster" in types?

You're not the only one... Gup has to bother Tobor and Kojiro to upload theirs, and Nova has to return from the void and we can start killing.

And done.

I'm using this shipset I'm not sure if I should upload it as it's a modified version of someone else's, so I'm just keeping it there.

Edit: link now actually points to shipset.

PM'ed and e-mailed Nova, but his last message on the board was in this thread and I have no idea how long ago was his last login. He's a student like me so if he's taking a hiatus it could be weeks. Does anybody have a way of contacting him outside of e-mail and pm's? I recall he gave out his MSN name a few months ago, maybe he logs into that regularly. But if he's in test mode he could've dumped the computer for a month, that's what I do.

Gups can you get Kojiro and Tobor to move on their empires if they're still interested in playing? Thanks.

Tobor isn't able to devote the time to another game. Kojiro seems opposed to starting another game.

If anybody has MSN installed they could probably add him to their contact list and see if he is online. When I was using MSN I'd ignore my e-mails because of the googles of spam, but a message window could get his attention. His MSN addy's on the PBW site.

Crap. I'm trying to start it, but there's no place for me to upload! I'm using a massive sized map, btw. Should I use a medium for 7 people?
