Temporary Bans for Users Facing Ban Polls
In light of two recent examples of a user, upon facing a ban poll in this Senate, going on to troll obnoxiously because he feels he has nothing to lose, I propose this amendment to the rules of this body:
Section 1: When a user, for violation of the Board Rules, is the subject of a permanent ban poll in the Senate, that user may be temporarily banned for five days or the duration of the poll, whichever is shortest, at the discretion of any administrator, or upon request by any two Senators other than the Senator who initiated the ban poll.
Section 2. Should the Senate impose a temporary ban as punishment for violation of the Board Rules after considering a permanent ban, the Senate may elect to count the time spent banned during the poll towards the user's sentence.
With passage of this amendment, a user facing a certain banning will no long get three to five days of playtime where he can act as trollish as he wants with no consequences. Nor will he be able to force the issue, as I believe vivftp tried, and get banned on his own terms. It may also prevent a user who might have escaped with a custom title from talking himself into a ban. However, it still leaves room for a genuinely repentant user to concede arguments and apologize while the poll is going on, since the temp ban is not automatic.
What say you, fellow Senators? Yea or nay? Even if you have no opinion whatsoever or don't care to vote on this issue, do please take advantage of the abstain option so that this amendment gets a quorum.

Yea.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Aye. Great idea.
Pain, or damage, don't end the world, or despair, or fuckin' beatin's. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, ya got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man ... and give some back.

Yes. After all, it is not mandatory but a good option to have.

Why is it so goddamned hard to get little assholes like you to admit it when you fuck up? Is it pride? What gives you the right to have any pride?

"I put no stock in religion. By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. "
