To all interested nations:
The Alliance of United Kingdoms is willing to offer generous terms of trade to any nation which can supply the Alliance with a steady source of sulfur. The Alliance is able to offer Food and Spices of the highest quality, as well as Coal and Iron.

From the Desk of Eli Green, President of the People’s Republic of India,
To Her Majesty Maria Ana Wadiyar de Braganca, Queen of Portugal, Mysore, and Ceilao, sovereign ruler of Macao and Timor,
Your Majesty, though relations between our governments have in the past been strained, our survival on this subcontinent depends upon our cooperation. Hindoostan is threatening to both of us; though I know you have maintained peace with them, it is only a matter of time before they attempt to take back the lands they imagine to be their own.
Knowing this, the People’s Republic of India would like to offer you the following agreement:
If Hindoostan makes war upon, or takes military action against one of our peoples, then the other shall immediately declare war upon them. This agreement shall become null and void if either party makes aggressive war on Hindoostan or any third party.
This defensive pact shall not only increase the chance of a victory in a defensive war against the Hindu Raj, but shall also make such a war less likely, as that nation would be less inclined to try and expand if it knows that any attack against one of us would be an attack against both of us.

To Eli Green, President of the People’s Republic of India,
"The tides of history move nations in strange ways, and the anvil of neccessity forges regrettable events. I can only express Her Majesty's gratitude for your display of the good Christian virtue of forgiveness for past offenses. I must also express her regret that she can not, at this time, accept the precise terms you placed before her. Hindoostan is a great beast, unpredictable and unbalanced thanks to the competing, bickering politicks of the heathen princes who lead her. There can be no doubt as to the danger presented by the Hindoo Raj, or the kindred spirit we must share living under the fearful pall of this newborn idiot giant. "
However, there can be no doubt that any excessive actions could spur the giant to action, causing the princes to forget their differences and turn to a final annihilation of the light of Christ on this shadow'd continent. "
This being the case, we can not, for the sake of Her own person and Her loyal subjects, place the Queen's word behind your Republic in such an open and provacative fashion."
However, not all treaties and agreements need be trumpeted from the mountain; an agreement of mutual defense in the face of Hindoo aggression can be kept in quiet council between out two Governments."
Additionally, the Queen bids me to place Her own offer on the table. The officers of Her Majesty's Armada have noticed severe deficiencies in your nation's ability to protect commerce on the high seas. As this Royal State can not, at this time, provide for your needs through over-land trade, you will doubtless soon become enmeshed in numerous trade agreements with distant lands. Your vessels will sail without the protection of modern steam-ships, as your own line of battle is hardly suited to fighting anything but a littoral defense."
Her Majesty offers this: In exchange for good Nelloran opium, to be transported by land, any attack on a Republican merchantman will be considered no different from an attack on a merchant-vessel of Her Majesty's treasure fleets, and the cruisers of the Royal Armada will make steam quickly to the rescue of any Republican merchant vessel threatened, whether by Corsairs or the marauding vessels of an aggressor nation. To sweeten the deal, we offer to supply you with fine silks, to be transported by land."
Of course, said protection would vanish in the inconceivable event that your most peaceful Republic makes aggressive war."
I await your reply."

From the Desk of Eli Green, President of the People’s Republic of India,
To Joaquim Augusto Mouzinho de Albuquerque,
As loathe as I am to accept a deal in secret, for it was this anonymous tangled system of alliances that caused, in part, the Great War, I see the wisdom in your Queen’s position. Though I might prefer a deal more open to the international community, Her Majesties amendment to our agreement is accepted.
Your Queen shows her great generosity in your second offer. The disposition of my nation is against any force that could be used beyond our legal borders (though that may change, I fear, if the political winds continue to blow as they are now), and the consequence is, as you point out, an inability to protect our commerce. While in my heart I wish it was not so, I know that there are those individuals who would seize upon this perceived weakness and pounce upon our peaceful trade ships. Therefore, Her Majesties deal is once again accepted. Via the rail route that connects our nations, we can send you raw poppy, refined opium, and the various medicinal cures that are Nellore’s specialty.
I hope that these deals are a start of some new great relationship between our peoples. Though there are those among the populace of this nation that still blame you for the loss of our territories, I believe that most have put aside that petty nationalistic holdover from more primitive times, and have instead looked to the future interest of all the peoples of the world, and seen that friendship with Royal India is most definitely in line with that interest.

To Joaquim Augusto Mouzinho de Albuquerque,
Because of the intercourse in trade between our two nations, we should be mindful of the danger that piracy and commerce raiding might present to our trading and industrial economies. It is thus that I propose the following agreement:
- That the Royal State of India and the Islamic Republic of Oman do resolve a joint naval patrol of the Arabian Sea to protect commerce therein.
- That damaged vessels of the Omani Republican Navy and merchant marine should have the right to shelter in ports of the Royal State of India, and vice versa, until such a time as they can make repairs or be towed to safety. This shall be excepted if the nation to which the craft belongs is in a state of war, to which the nation hosting the port is neutral, in which case the standard maritime law concerning internment of combat vessels by a neutral power shall be observed.

The Shogunate wishes to make it's interest in soliciting long term trade agreements for iron and sulfur known. It is the desire of this nation that a long term, mutually satisfactory arrangement be made as soon as possible.
In return we will be willing to further a like proposal for such strategic materials as our realm posseses.

The great and glorious nation of Russia would be interested in trading its sulfur for the most honourable Japanese state's coal. WE would also be interested in an exchange of diplomatic emissaries for better long term relations.

A formal diplomatic letter to the Exiled Tokugowa Shogunate.
The August Nation of Crossroadia looks forward to fostering all nations in the Eastern Seas into a state of Industrial liberation that shall echo the model of Corporatism that is Crossroadia.
To this end we have been informed of crucial Resources that your nation lacks, and of Resources that our nation lacks. As of the current fiscal year, We have a Surplus of both Iron and Opium That are seeking trading partners with. In turn we wish to parley these vital resources and luxuries for Rare Metals and Spices Respectively
If this trade agreement is looked favourably upon, we would wish to further extend an offer of friendship between our nations that ships may pass freely between our waters.
Signed:

As your nation is aware, we are presently searching for a stable supply of Iron. Unfortunately at such a time we are not able to provide the Rare Metals which you desire in trade. Perhaps your nation would instead have a use for the Cotton which we have in abundance.
You offer of trade of Spices for your stock of Opium is acceptable to us in principle. We would enquire upon what terms you would be interested in such an exchange?

I have been informed after initial positive encounters that Trade would be most welcome between us. While the Executives are saddened by your choice to neglect the offer to trade for your metals, we fully understand and respect your decision.
This said we shall, at this time, agree to an exchange of Iron Ore for raw Cotton on bulk to feed our deeply needed Textile Mills.
On the subject of the latter part of our trade, since both Opium and Spices are categorized as Luxuries, an arrangement of $1,000 in Opium for $1,000 in Spices is proposed.

Both of our nations would profit from the Habsburg Island's surplus iron ore being shipped to the African States of America, which in turn could provide the Habsburg Islands with rares.
The Habsburg Islands are also interested in food supplies and can offer spice or silk in return.
Our navy, both merchant and armed forces, are also interested in coaling and port use rights, which would of course be reciprocated.
we hope for a stable trading partnership bringing prosperity to both of our countries,

Also, since many of our citizens are also from the United States and thus share a common bond with the people of your nation, I have been authorized to offer an exchange of embassies to better allow communication and diplomacy between the ASA and the People's Republic.

To the Honorable Mr. Franklin Chase:
We gladly accept your offer of a change in emissaries. We are also open to your offer of a trade of rare metals for opiates. However, at the moment, the most pressing need for our nation is obtaining a source of iron, and I hear that you have iron available for trade. If this is the case, we would be willing to trade food, cotton, coal, or sulfur for that iron. Or, if you need none of those resources, we would be interested in trading rare metals for iron.
I await your reply.

I fear there has been a mix up somewhere in your government. We, like you, are deficient in iron, and have to import it ourselves. We do not have iron to trade you, most regrettably. If we did, we would
However, our offer for opium in return for rare metals still stands, if you will accept it.

The Germanic Kingdom of Madagascar has neglected its economic and political necessities for far too long as we deal with the sudden loss of our queen and the ascension of her daughter to the throne. Long live Queen Ranavalona III.
Be it known that the Germanic Kingdom of Madagascar wishes to enhance commerce with other nations, and to that end the following resources are available for trade;
Coal, Iron, and Sulfur are all available as implements of industry. Spices and Opium are likewise available for trade. Madagascar has secured its basic resource needs, so it will weigh all resource offers equally, and would also entertain offers of a less tangible or conventional nature.
(OOC: If I made a trade deal with you for something and forgot [which may have happened] PM me and let me know.)
On another note, the selection process for a Royal Consort for Queen Ranavalona has now begun. Any Christian man of noble birth or high station may be considered, and any nation which accepts would enjoy extensive consideration and good graces from the Germanic Kingdom.

Be it known that the Germanic Kingdom of Madagascar wishes to enhance commerce with other nations, and to that end the following resources are available for trade;
The People's Republic is most interested in securing a source of sulfur, for our own stocks are not sufficient to meet our needs. We have available coal, spices such as saffron, and opium.
If your new Queen is interested in something besides for resources, we would be willing to offer you coaling rights at our ports. If any of these deals are acceptable to you, or if you have some other benefit in mind, please let us know.
Additionally, we would be interested in exchanging embassies to allow better communication between our nations.
