You know, those human Imperial crews?

Doesn't he see the problem here?
I once debated with a Trektard on GameFAQs (yes, you can laugh now) who was a Section 31 fanatic.
He thought that Section 31 would release a bio-nano-wank virus into the Imperial forces, it would spread so virulently that it would reach the Star Wars galaxy and kill off everyone from Coruscant to Tatooine because as he put it "unquarantined SW transports would head back to the SW galaxy carrying this plague".
His reasoning for the virus not affecting Federation humans? He said Imperials would be so arrogant they would isolate themselves totally from the native populations. No matter what.
Given the similar fanwank displayed here, this guy's reasoning might be the same.

I didn't read all his bullshit but this paragraph struck me as hilarious:
2. The Federation would have a rather distinct advantage in ground combat. In AOTC, Imperial Troopers engaged Jedi forces. Due to the Empire only firing single laser shots (no spread or wide-arced weapons), the Jedi were able to destroy all shots fired at them (or most of the shots) with their lightsabers. From this we can conclude that the Empire has no weapons which are capable of spreading their firepower over a large area.

The Federation however has phasers that can fire in rather large arcs, and take out fairly large groups of enemies.
I can see it now:
Captain to some Lieutenant: "Send down a crate of our phasers and all our ground troops."
Later: Captain: "What's happening now?"
LT: "Nothing, Sir"
Captain: "Why is that?"
Lt: "I obeyed your orders precisely Sir - sent down a crate of phasers and zero ground troops."
Captain: "Zero ground troops! But I ordered you to send down all our ground troops."
LT: "We have zero ground troops Sir, so that's what I sent."
Captain: "Bugger. And what's happening with that crate of phasers?"
Lt: "It seems the enemy has captured it Sir."
TVWP: "Janeway says archly, "Sometimes it's the female of the species that initiates mating." Is the female of the species trying to initiate mating now? Janeway accepts Paris's apology and tells him she's putting him in for a commendation. The salamander sex was that good."

"Siege of AR588" showed us the Federation has ground troops.
Ground troops in this case meaning that they grab a bunch of redshirts, give them a phaser, beam them down and hope their bodies clog up the enemy's resources long enough for a main character to save the day..

Can you imagine if Trek space and ground combat actually played out in the real TV shows and movies the way the Trekkie wankers think it should? It's funny how the sheer absurdity of that mental picture (which obviously means we'll never see it) somehow doesn't faze the wanker horde in their unshakable belief that their model is accurate.

Trek-wank ground combat:
"Oh my God, hundreds of Jem Hadar soldier are attacking our position!"

"Don't worry, let me get my hand phaser out and shoot them all on wide-angle ... *bzzzt*"

"Thanks Lieutenant, I was scared there for a minute."
Trek-wank space combat:
"Oh my God, a gigantic alien fleet with immensely powerful weapons, using technology we've never seen before! And they'll be at Earth in less than a day!"

"No problem lieutenant. We have transporters."

"Whew! Thanks Captain, I was a bit scared there for a moment."

I love how he focuses completely on the use of computers to bolster his argument for Trek accuracy, and uses an instance in Star Wars where anti capital ship guns were being used with respectable success against fighters to make his generalizations.

Does he think humans can aim guns so precisely they fire accurately over hundreds of millions of kilometers? The fact that the heavy Death Star turbolasers killed any rebel fighters, despite being designed to combat ships thousands of times less maneuverable, millions of times further away, and millions of times larger, is mute testimony to the accuracy of turbolasers.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

I'm sure he doesn't realize that many modern weapons have computer guidance systems, yet they are not perfect either. Yet he writes such a large volume of text that he surely must believe he's done considerable research and written a compelling argument.

To a diehard trektard, reading DITL.org and Darkstar's webpage constitutes "considerable research".

Oh he believes it's research, and I'm sure he thinks long winded diatribes equate to educated thought. The funniest part you have to love of these people is their intesive focus on minuate...and omitting all the other times said minutae fails.

You see, Star Wars is retro. Everything in it is like WWII. The ships fight at ranges of a few kilometers, you've got primitive fighters that move at about the same speed as propeller aircraft... Naturally everything's real crew intensive, with humans aiming, firing, loading etc. all the guns... I realize this makes no sense whatsoever in an interstellar civilization but Star Wars, like most SF, is really more the author's fantasy than a depiction of what an interstellar civ would really be like. You shouldn't try to shoehorn "realistic" capacities into it - it's basically fantasy so it doesn't have to make sense to us. The important thing here is Trek clearly is intended to depict a more advanced technology, and as we all know in analyzing SF author's intent is really everything.

Ah, but the New Testament God is apparently a forgiving and benevolent one so he'd aid them despite that. The complete and utter lack of evidence for
a) God actually existing and
b) him/her/it coming to the Federation's aid on numerous occasions where they could have really used it notwithstanding.

1. He can sign up anytime.

2. Do you really think he would honestly change much of his tactics, given his claim of reading up on the major content of the board? It's one thing to be an ignorant person and being informed...it's something else entirly to essentially read a detailed breakdown then form one's crackpot conclusions on the basis it doesn't agree with you.

Like many have stated he's akin to looking back to 1999 when many other illuminaries were arguing on ASVS. Someone this static doesn't change because he becomes a board member and has to back it up with a simple ban threat.

Which becomes a twenty second snack that leaves one unsatisfied. The bans are filled with numerous ones that have tried to leave a mark, let alone hundreds to thousands of posts in this forum alone.

This idiot would be yet another yabbering buffon that literally would waste bandwidth.

Hot damn, I don't visit the site for a day and cannon fodder like this appears. I suppose it's too late to rip apart that dumbfuck's email since it's been done already.

I reckon if he makes some kind of retort that it will take him a long time to do so going by the length of the original mail, and that he will only have a free email account thus cannot sign on to this site, or that he could but he knows that he'll get flamed to death because he's full of shit.
