which movie did you like more

The Two Towers as a representation of the book is around as bad as Attack of the Clones (I didn't like that movie). However, TTT as a stand-alone was oretty good. I'll give this one to TTT.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!

If you want to get into fights, I liked the fights from TTT MUCH more than the fight from AOTC. Partly because in TTT it wasn't so much of a slaughter house as it was in AOTC.
Justice League, Super-Villain Carnage "Carnage Rules!" Cult of the Kitten Mew... The Black Mage with The Knife SD.Net Chronicler of the Past Bun Bun is my hero. The Official Verilonitis Vaccinator
There were only a couple outstanding scenes in AOTC, the Yoda fight scene and the ending with all the ships lifting off with the troops. Despite the amazing special effects I found the rest of the movie was pretty forgettable and almost painful to watch at times (Padme/Anakin scenes anyone?).
I just watched The Two Towers today and it was like Wow! While I felt it wasn't as strong as FOTR, it was still outstanding. There were so many great moments I don't even know where to start, but the one that really got me was the Eowyn/Aragon/Gimli scene that ended with Gimli falling off the horse! That was just too much! And Smeagol scenes, oh what hilarity there was!
It's an easy pick for me, TTT takes it by a mile with the wonderful stories characters and memorable scenes.

I found TTT to be unengaging and in need of a good edit. Just like AOTC in many ways. That leaves me with the eye candy, which for me means AOTC wins.

This is going to be a long post. Although I might forget stuff. LoL.
First of all, I loved Attack of the Clones. Sure there are things that bothered me, and that I would change, but then again, it would be my Star Wars and not Lucas' in that case. Personally I would have either cut down or left out the meadow scene, and at least got some of the Padme House scene in there. As a whole I loved it. I see what people are saying about Padme and Anakin being forced. However to me it just shows two confused people trying to deal with both thier emotions and thier occupation. Not only that, they would have to lie in order to maintain it. Personally the Star Wars movies have had a very coherent story line thus far. Especiall when compared to many, many other movies.
The Lord of the Rings. I know I have said it many times. I have NOT read the books. I know utterly shit about this story. Except for what I know from Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. I did manage to see some of the Hobbit cartoon a loooong time ago. Either way the whole Lord of the Rings thing is pathetic. It's so shitty it drives me fucking insane. Especially when compared to the masterpiece that is Star Wars. LoL. Okay, okay, I know some fucktard is already replying to this post. Gotcha!
True I know only what I have seen in the two movies. I have heard some outcries and bullshit. No difference. I will not read the books until after all three movies are out. I am overly surprised, find suspense and have enjoyed both FotR and TTT. I don't know which I like better. They are both great. I don't feel confused, much. In that I say it because I know that they had it planned as a trilogy. In that, when all hell breaks loose at the end of FotR I wasn't dissappointed at the ending. Same with TTT. This 'she' golam refers to is getting me uppity for next year now. lol. As a whole, it's intriguing. It's exciting and really keeps me guessing. Maybe in the book the Battle of Helm's Deep was spectacular. Oh well. I thought it was fucking awesome in the movie. And Legolas 'surfing' that was just bad as shit. They showed that in the previews and I was ready to buy 'FIVE' tickets. I love corny action bad ass shit like that. The one liners might have been too many. However it kept things comedic and mixed up. It was a huge mix.
All in all, I know people want to start a fucking fight, but I just can't say which I liked better. The both have pros and cons. They both have a completely different feel. yet they both tell a story of a world at war and struggling with all the shit that is. i believe they both pull it off very well.

Oh it wasn't that bad, I was more annoyed by the complete tactical stupidity of the good guys. I'm perfectly fine with the bad guys being little more than cannon fodder, which is the way it is in pretty much all movies, but the mistakes the good guys defending Helm's Deep made were astounding.AdmiralKanos wrote:I tried to blank that out of my memory. For one thing they had detailed info on the enemy forces thanks to Aragorn, and they just sit on it. The could've sent out a bunch of archers on horseback to bleed them senseless, the Urukai had nothing that could match the range of the arrows, and they aren't fast enough to catch mounted riders. Get the archers into range, shoot, and retreat when the Urukai get too close, and repeat. That should wipe out most of the bad guys before they can get near Helm's Deep, and unless a horse goes down there shouldn't be any casualties.
AOTC had some major tactical goofs as well. Yoda was a dumbass, instead of using all his power to keep that column from falling on Obiwan & Anakin and thus letting Dooku get away, he could easily have force-pushed Obi & Ani away from the killzone and continued his fight with Dooku. But no, he has to show off his powers and wastes a good half minute dicking with the column while Dooku makes his getaway. It would've taken him half a second to push Obi & Ani away from the falling column, giving Dooku no time to do anything funny.
It makes for good movies and dramatic scenes I suppose, but these tactical errors just bug the hell out of me.

TTT wins hands down.
AOTC had few good scenes, such as the ending with troops marching into Acclamators while camera pans to Palpatine and Imperial March starts to play. Compared to TTT, AOTC lacked atmosphere and a "soul". CGI was overused and it had that toyish look, though it wasn't as bad in TPM. I couldn't personally care less about what happens to Anakin or Padme - Dooku and Obi-Wan were great, but neither of them got enough screen time. How about music? Sorry, but John Williams' score wasn't anything special.
TTT is a beautiful movie, although the pacing in some scenes was a bit off, and I would have also loved to see more Merry and Pippin. However, it's possible that the upcoming Extended Edition will probably remedy these problems. Frodo, Smeagol, Aragorn & all in TTT were nothing like those cardboard characters of AOTC. Its special effects served the story tellling purpose, instead of taking the main role. ´
Watching the TTT in a theater was wonderful experience. The crowd laughed at Smeagol's monologue and Gimli jokes ("Maybe it's because of the beard! ), and when the end credits started rolling, something what I have never seen before happened: they applauded.

I think the difference between the two is the difference between a movie that kept the ship from sinking and a movie that came so close to being just right that it hurts.
AOTC was a commercial success no doubt BUT despite being a far better film than its predeccessor all it did was keep the SW ship afloat. It didn't buoy it back to the days after Empire when the whole country wanted to know if Darth Vader really WAS Luke and Leia's father. AOTC had great action and a very neat and well played sub-plot with Jango and Obi-Wan, unfortunately the movie bogged down in the critical weakness of most SW movies: dialouge. Sure there are always memorable catch phrases but in the OT they were witty and here they seem inserted merely for sentimental value, Lucas needed some mroe refreshing dialouge because he was trying to handle a courting sequence MUCH more complex than the later/earlier Han and Leia deal.
TTT by comparison was almost completely excellent, it showed that you can intersperse good drama with comedy and action to create a cwonderful roller coaster ride. Many of the complaints we are voicing, and others are voicing, arise from the fact that the movie came SO DAMN CLOSE to being right but didn't make it. All the errors are the more glaring for it but the movie itself is so excellent that it can almost make you feel guilty unless you complain abotu something.
For the record holding fast at Helm's Deep was probably a well played move as the Uruk-hai were fast enough to have outflanked anything more than a small raiding force on fast hroses. The terrian was very well suited to the defense and minus Aragorn's rather foolish decision to hold fire until late they held the ground well and with a little more strength would have been able to mount a very effective coutner attack to drive the Uruk-hai away.
Also Mike horses did die on that charge into the pikemen and it certainly was foolish but with Gandalf blinding the orcs (andthus making them flinch and withdraw their pikes) it gave Eomer's Eored a huge momentum advantage to drive into the orcs without which they would nto have been able to effectively break the enemy.
