Hopefully my name has already been processed since I had it submitted about 2-3 weeks ago due to some tools I'm writing with someone else for SupCom 8)

If you bothered to watch the last movie (the really long one) you'd have known to register already. At the end of the movie presenter said, very specifically, to go sign up for the newsletter if you wanted to get into the beta.

Fuck off. He posted a link to a beta that's useless to anyone WHO DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW ABOUT IT. Not everyone haunts forums for games that aren't out, you know... and anyone registered on that forum wouldn't need his post to remind them.

Ssshhh, everyone. Stark's just bitter. :P

I'm busy and Dark Crusade is coming out so I'm not sure I'd be able to handle this too. I'll have to enjoy the beta vicariously through the rest of you somehow. :D

Hey I'm not harshing you. If IB expects everyone interested in the beta to be slavishly following the game's development, he's dead fucking wrong is all. I actually had no idea the game was so close to completion.

Don't tell me, I'm required by law to watch some trailer and know this stuff?

I don't, in fact, follow the development. The movie came out, it said register, I registered. Then this post shows up, so I go and send my email beta signup. The whole thing required that I watch a 30 minute movie on the game (which had new content, I might add :D ) and come here at 3am.

I don't think thats too unreasonable, to be honest. I mean, if you were interested in SupCom wouldn't you have watched the big gameplay presentation/movie, or signed up for the news letter out of honest interest for the game? Far from slavish if you ask me.

I'm interested in SupCom and I haven't watched the big gamplay presentation movie. I mean, I've got shit to do.

I glossed over the whole sign up with our newsletter part. I had already done that and signed up on the forums a long time ago when the forums first appeared.

Well, I needed that post to remind me... :P I don't check the Gas Powered forums very often and I was expecting to receive a newsletter giving more information about the beta, but haven't received anything.

Oh yay! This information is absolutely worthless for me since I can't Beta for the reasons Stark already mentioned. Thank you for posting such worthless information that I can't do anything with.

Come on guys, I know we're all excited about the game but this isn't the first time someone's posted something that isn't immediately of use to us.

Its of absolutely no use because we are past the registration date.

I'd hardly say absolutely no use. We now know there's a beta open and none of us are invited. It's just not a particularly nice FYI. :P

That announcement was made Oct 2nd (the date at the top is of what the post looked like when it was first made; after which it was edited a few times by DT12).

So no one could've known about it months ago. :P

Or you could have once in a while popped over and registered, just for being safe. Like I did.

I was told back in August that the beta would be sometime in mid-later October, but I didnt think it would be this public :P

*bitter*

Anyway, does Supreme Commander have a better plot than TA? Because TA, while great, was pretty cold and barren, "soul" wise.

As I said above, it was of immense use to me, since I had immediately registered during the last round of SupCom discussion here (which urged registering in order to have a shot at the beta) but do not check the Gas Powered forums very often. Had the post not been made here, I would have missed the chance to sign up. So be happy for me.

There is 10gb of content for SupCom currently. While most of those are maps, they should have some nice missions in them. Also they ahve released a heck of a lot of info about the backstory which indicates there is a lot more ingame plot than there was for TA.

Remember, TA was the 1st game Cavedog made and scripting was very very primitive back then. Dungeon Siege & Dungeon Siege 2 both have considerable amounts of ingame quests & plot (not that great, but it is practice for them!)
