Has avyone besides me heard of them? I found a really nice one with Israel vs Syria, and a beta for a WWII game with that engine... any opinions on these mods?

I've been busy while my Desktops internet has been fritzy playing Rise of the Reds open beta which adds an exceptionally well made and balanced Russian faction to Zero Hour, they even have unique (and apparently genuinely russian) voices for the units, as well as a brilliant sound-track.
Not to sound to adsy (I suspect it may be too late). But if you enjoy the command and conquer series, I highly recomend Rise of the Reds (can't wait for the next version, which should improve balance and add general factions for the Russian faction!).

I haven't seen the Syria one (looks interesting, I'll see if I can dig it up, or could you provide a link?) But there are plenty of WW2 conversions out there, many of them up to the standards of RotR and beyond, which one have you been playing?

the Israel vs syria mod is called Mideast Mod 1.5 (available through Modtoaster,) I cant remember the exact link, but the Modtoaster program has mady C&C Generals mods available, and it installs them for you I'll get back to you on the world War 2 one. Oh. I'll also reccommend the Modern Mod to Generals, with nice models and units... except its all in German, so I have to guess my way through the game menus and the game itself, "Dieses ist ein preiswerter heller Behälter."... this a cheap light tank(yes, I translated it through google,) it can even be fun...

There is one called "Cold War Crisis" that is a very proffesionally done 1980s Cold War themed mod, which I was working on for a while. You have all the cool kit for both sides, the A-10 for the US being particularly awesome - it chooses whether to use Mavericks or the Avenger cannon dependant on target type. Also the T-80's get an awesome anti-missile countermeasure system. It's an interesting mix of realistic damage with RTS weapon ranges to keep combat on one screen (so for example M1A1s will kill most other tanks in one or two hits, but their range is comparable to tanks in generals).

Theres only a demo out so far but it is very much worth a look, link to their site is in my signature.

There's a Battletech mod. I played the early version which wasn't bad, but I can't comment on what later ones will be like
