Anyone else think the longbowmen suck balls? I was expecting a bit better performence from them, being English longbowmen and all, and I was particularly miffed when I compared the battle with Pavia and found that arquebusiers had significantly better range than yeoman!

One would certainly think so...
I got the feeling in Agincourt that I was playing with Archer Auxilia or something, as if they hadn't even bothered to update the archer's stats to reflect medieval technology and doctrine.

What I noticed was that arrows were incredibly effective against plate mail. I was under the impression that it wasn't too effective, but it does however give the target a whack in the head, like a bullet hitting kevlar.

IIRC, a bodkin arrow fired from a Welsh longbow was capable of penetrating plate armor at ranges of up to 300 feet, although I've nothing to back that up.

Wasn't there a History Channel show on that Battle of Agricourt that mentioned that the arrow heads weren't strong enough to penetrate the plate mail, but rather it was the force of the arrow that knocked the knights off the saddle?

What's your particular method? Have you found some better method than ignoring the cannons long enough to whittle down the enemy cavalry and infantry?
Pretty much doing just that- after putting the attack from the King of France to flight, I about face the entire Army to face the flank where the cannons are on and just take it on the chin (making sure all the right units attack the right enemies etc) But I send the Generals' Guard to chase down the King, kill him, and then use him to flank the cannons. They'll send Gendarme cavalry to attack them, but the General's Bodyguard will win. Then just send em at the cannons and it's all over really. The battle with the main army decides itself.
