Half Life MODS.

Post by jodathalas »

Whats your favorite online MOD? My favorite is the Vampire Slayer mod. I also like TFC, DoD, Counter-strike, the Specialists, and good old fashion half life. I also downloaded the Jedi mod but, literally, nobody plays it.

Day of Defeat. There's nothing quite like slaughtering Nazi scum with a machine gun to make you feel patriotic!

Yup, Day of Defeat, all the way :D . As of late I've been getting quite good at using the M1903 without the scope. :)

CS, TFC. I used to play Vampire Slayer, Firearms, and DoD. I hated The Specialists though. I'll play NS when it becomes stable for my comp.

CS, Firearms, and DoD (when it isn't trying to kill my comp and internet connection)

I've met some pretty tough snipers in TFC. How do people get that good!? In one of my favorite servers, a guy names darkestdays usually gets around 50 kills and 5 deaths in a 30 minute round.

DoD is very fun, but I'm finding myself playing more and more Svencoop these days.

No good if he doesn't get 80%+ headshots. You get good by practicing - a lot.

I rather liked the USS Darkstar mod. It captures the flavor of the original Half-Life, with an even more futuristic setting, and adds some humor while it's at it.
To: Mr. Walter Bennett
From: Dr. Einar Saukas
Subject: Offer of Employment

Dear Mr. Walter Bennett,

Black Widow Inc. would like to invite you to join our organization. You would be assigned as a member of the multi-disciplinary scientific team on board of the USS DARKSTAR, in a zoological research expedition to seek out, collect and investigate new alien life-forms in unexplored sectors of the universe.

This mission occurs in the year 2066, but since you have already travelled to the future before, this should not be a problem for you. The space-time window to come to our present time will be available in just a few days, please decide ASAP about your interest in this job opportunity.

You have been selected for this position by Cmdr. Neil Manke due to your broad knowledge on advanced biochemistry and extensive experience interacting with hostile aliens. Your proven capacity to survive under critical conditions was also considered. But actually you don't have anything to worry about, our project is adopting the most rigorous safety measures to prevent incidents. I can personally guarantee everything is under control and none of the crew will be ever submitted to any risk situations whatsoever. This is certainly going to be a calm, quiet and relaxing journey, as you can already predict from the pictures of our impressive spaceship installations at The Black Widow's Lair.

We are looking forward to having you on our team!

Dr. Einar Saukas
Administration Office
Black Widow Inc.
Project USS DARKSTAR

Mr. Walter Bennett is one of several famous scientists invited to participate in this mission. You are Dr. Gordon Freeman, a brilliant researcher who has always had problems waking up on time...

At least 3/4 of those "god snipers" are using assorted wallhacks, clientside hacks, aimbots, and other cheezy stuff.

And yes, we should play a game of DoD some time. I ain't that good with any games nowadays because I don't play games outside of LANparties anymore.

I was just playing some DoD. I was owning more than usual, despite the overall incompetency of my teammates. Then the game turned unimaginably retarded when I was on the same team as an idiot and a fuckwit against 3 seasoned players and a newb.

Anyways, I tend to play on the [Totenkopf] DoD v3.1 server, its a Linux server and usally has pretty good people.

God damnit... this spurred me to go ahead and reinstall Half-Life... and now it crashes EVERY DAMN TIME I START OR LOAD A GAME!

Win2K, Win98, nothing helps... funny thing is, I don't remember it doing this before. I wonder if it's my hardware...

Day of Defeat is good(MOVE UP the .30Cal! Yessir!, Use your gernades! Yessir! Fire in the Hole(Repeated by 5 people) *thud thud thud thud(Me on that .30Cal) And there goes the 7 kills by MG or Gernade, I love it)

I however HATE many of the DoD Maps, The famous parts of Caen2 you can get stuck in, The lack of apporches into some maps, and many maps where designed with Snipers in mind and not MG's so decent Mg positions are nih useless

I love Natural Selection, amazing agian what people manage to do with the HL engine, I recomend it to everyone

My new favorite ATM is of course the brand new DBZ Mod, Earth Special Forces which so far has been VERY fun(I'm sorry but I love hopping in, raking up 20 Kills Going Super then get to use Final Flash and Big Bang on anyone who wanders by)

I recently got ESF too. I loaded my own music into it so I am listening to stuff like POD when I am kicking ass with Mystic Krillin.
