Well, now that I've picked up the retail version of the game I can make more progress on my BattleTech mod.

I was initially very excited when I saw this:

However, in the Ground Combat screen, they just skate around. Which, now that I think about it, would make for a hilarious Heavy Gear mod!

But anyway, I wasn't really expecting the BattleMechs to walk properly, and it would be a pain in the ass to model.

Mod away. I bet you could import freely available mech models in .x format too, if you looked or asked modders for other BT themed stuff.

Not too sure on spaceships though. But I wonder if that old Homeworld mod would release their models? McKenna! :D

I've already located tons of BattleTech models. Hard part's going to be finding models with a reasonable poly count. :)
