I am trying to install a copy of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 on my parents computer. When I install it it gets to the point where it starts copying and there it always fails with a CRC error. The CD is scratchfree and it does the same with my XP SP2 disc as well.
They have bought an HP Pavilion media blabla something, good allround specs I thought and a good buy for their first computer, but maybe it's fucking shit on the inside? I really doubt it's actually a CRC error from what I've seen on the net.

Those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who did not.
HP has sourced components from both good OEM's such as ASUS and from really dodgy ones such as Trigem.
Does their HP system recovery CD set install normally?

Then it's probably got a hidden partition on the hard drive that'll restore the system to 'as new' configuration. His Divine Shadow wrote:Didn't get one of those I noticed and remarked to my parents.Glocksman wrote:HP has sourced components from both good OEM's such as ASUS and from really dodgy ones such as Trigem.
