A: I'm a physics major. I'll learn about it in class, anyway. This is just for my own amusement.
B: This book was written by Feynman, and it includes all the math (it's calculus-based). It's not your average "coffee-table book."

The family got a new computer for downstairs, and I got about $70 in Legos, some books on things like science and world history, some candy, losing lottery tickets, and my cousin's family gave me some novels by C.S. Lewis, while my sister got a Christian Rock CD from them. Also, my brother got a PS2 and some DVDs.

Hmph. I got my parents to call me the day after Christmas. Oh, and I got to be excluded by all but two family members. I got to look at all therhappy Christmases of online friends. I got to see how little my family really cares about me.

I got modship of BOTM. I got Rob, my boyfriend, the greatest man alive, in my eyes.

So, I got both the best and worst Christmas ever.

Sorry to hear about your family problems, Verilon. Should I presume that it has something to do with intolerance directed toward your sexual orientation?

No, my family's just dysfunctional and doesn't care. They never have, and never will. What happened was I called my mom, thinking she had called me (I had a private call on the Caller ID of my phone, and her # doesn't show up). And she said, "Oh! Merry Christmas..." Very brief conversation. And same with my dad today. And my aunt is the only one caring enough to see how I am doing, ever.

That sucks, buddy. No wonder you sometimes get depressed.

WTF?!!?!?
That is Fucking Irredeemably WRONG!!! If my family treated me like that, I'd disown them in a heartbeat and permanently cut any and all ties with them. I wish there was something I could do to help...

Look at it this way: I care about all of three family members. The rest, fuck them. Then there is Rob, my boyfriend, and he is incredibly special to me, and that is why Yule was so nice ths year. Rob is my family, whether I have met him or not. I could explain a lot of this, but it would involve my spirituality and religion, and that is something that should probably be known to only those who wish to know, and even then, half of them wouldn't understand. The only people that I'm really willing to get in depth with are other pagans, and I could try with people of other religions, and I will tell as much as I can to an atheist, but the latter may be too skeptical for me to be able to convince in any way. But I would tell the truth, because I have no reason to lie.

Well, I actually haven't met him yet. I talked to his mother on the phone briefly today though. But there is a long story behind our meeting. Feel free to ask, and I will tell all that I can.

I'm sorry to hear about your family problems, Ver. I could relate somewhat, as the two sides don't really talk to each other. On the one side are old-world Italian family types, and on the other side is my father's family and my father himself, who pretty much personifies the concept of the Dirty Old Man.

Anyway, I got lots of good stuff this year, most notably a GameCube and an Altec Lansing speaker set with subwoofer (no Yamaha, Mike, but my brother-in-law says it's a pretty good set). Also got a Middle-earth day by day calendar, LOTR Risk, a pen WITH A MOTHERFUCKING LIGHT IN IT and a bunch of cash. Oh, and a Wavebird wireless GC controller. Which fucking rocks harder than AC/DC.
